Just saw this on ebay. I run a clip draw on mine, for minimal girth, but this looks like a great option. I’d see my self cutting down the barrel rod if I got one, but doubt that I will get one.

Seems like one would need the barrel rod length to guide the gun back into the holster. Doubt one handed holstering would work at all, nothing to keep the rod open to accept the gun. Interesting, never seen one before, good concept but has bugs.

My thoughts exactly. I wouldn’t even try it. I could see pulling out the holster to re-holster, but that’s not too practical. I had a similar, minimalist holster back when I had the P365. I never attempted to re-holster when wearing it, after the first few attempts. Too much fidgeting and room for error. I would do as I had said before, which was to pull out the holster to re-holster. Not sure if you remember me writing about it, but it had excellent retention as I had gotten into a fist fight, which ended up on the ground and it stayed put the whole time. It did not have the barrel rod at all either. Just the part that snaps around the trigger guard. Pic attached.

Summer time carry often involves sweaty temps, especially bad for an iwb carry. This offers no protection from that, or the feeling of your gun against bare skin.
In the Wintertime, if more than one gun is available to you it's often unnecessary to carry in deep concealment. And so I'd choose an option that had a little more firepower than a Kahr, usually. But even if my Kahr was my only carry option, if at all possible I'd wear it on my belt owb, in the Winter time. Outside of novelty I really see little use for this in my own personal rotation. Cool little clip though!

I know holsters are a “to each his own” thing. Here in Florida it is ultra steamy in the summer, so I run around in shorts, t shirt and flip flops. My girth prevents me from wearing a conventional holster, lest I show off my wares too much. So, a little slide clip on my CW9 hits the spot. My undies prevent it from being uncomfy. But yes, it does get sweat soaked, so an evening wipe down with a silicone cloth every day, at minimum, is a must. No rust in years, other than the mag release. Every once in a while I remove it, give it and it’s channel a good cleaning and then soak it for a while in CLP. I go ahead and treat the interior of the slide too, as some sweat can get up in there. I learned the hard way with a Shield once, neglecting to do as such, and the recoil spring had gotten rusty.
What can I say, I'm into my creature comforts. For both me and the boys. I just don't wear shorts that won't hold a belt and on it a holster :)

I totally feel ya! If there’s one thing I like about winter time, it’s being able to holster and wear a 1911 or a full sized 9mm/40. Your response tells me you apendix carry. I’ve tried that and definitely know what you mean about “the boys”, so now run everything on the hip. My dunlop helps too! ;)

I wear a 1911 year around in the same Garrett Silent Thunder IWB. Usually commander but often times a full 5"er too.
Only time I carry something else is on the rare days I work where I'm not allowed to carry, then it's whatever fits on the ankle. PM45 usually, Sig 365 sometimes. Half mans gotta do what a half mans gotta do ya know.

Wish I could carry a 1911 year round! And the ankle thing... I have a buddy who actually carries a poly judge in his ankle holster at times. He’s a big ol boy, and can pull it off.
Yep we all do what we hasta do. I don't appendix carry, the comment about the boys was mainly in jest, though I did recently pick up one of the urban carry holsters for my PM45. So I guess if I grow accustom enough to it then I will be appendix carrying. Thing is I like to have all the options I need so that I don't find myself in a position where I can't dress around my carry. Family gatherings are a challenge in that way because of the somewhat dreaded hugging that goes on. That's why I bought the urban carry.

Family gatherings are no problem for me. I don't even conceal then. If the family don't see a gun on me they'll know it's time to find a home to stuff me in.
They all know that guns are my # 1 thing pretty much above all else so it is what it is.

After you try out that Urban Carry how about post an opinion. I’d be interested to know what a real non paid person thinks about it.

I would like to try it as well. I detest IWB holsters. I like my pants to fit perfectly.
Here is a holster that I finally after so many years like. I received it as a gift. When I first saw it, I said, man I am sorry they wasted their money as I will not be wearing it. Man that changed quick. I started practicing drawing with it and it was as fast as the video. And it is so comfortable. Does not print. No problem with that claustrophobic feel I get from IWB holsters. This was one of those deals that you should not knock it before trying it. It works great!
I EDC my CM9 in it.
For myself this holster is a 10Plus. However just like many things, it may not be right for all.

King Rat/DOA...like Yqtszhj said, it’s good to hear your feedback on that one from an actual user/owner. I have seen the urban carry vids and wondered if the fit and function was as advertised. Sounds as if it does! May have to give one a shot.
Not sure if you guys saw the meme video where a guy had a pistol grip shotgun in one. Pretty funny!
I have worn mine in the house for a couple/few days. I wear jeans, either Levis or Wranglers almost exclusively. The leather is a very fine and the craftsmanship is very good. While the holster is perfectly comfortable both sitting down or standing up, going from up to down can be a bit of a challenge. The corner of it catches on the inside of the jeans and binds a bit on the way down. Once down it is mostly invisible. I don't know if it will ever be my favorite, but I will use it when conditions, such as family gatherings require me to be entirely discreet.
I do not think it's a great option while driving or sitting in a movie theater. IWB carry in other positions would allow presentation more quickly and positively in my opinion. But then the deep carry it provides is probably the best offered in some situations. For those interested there is also the "Smart Carry" option which is similar, and done by a different company. We have a couple of those too. I don't regret buying either, however like some other holstering options they are, again imho, best applied in particular situations. To be fair, so are other more traditional modes of carry.

Being a full time sitter it would not work for me. I too detested IWB for many years but tried several and became accustomed to it. I never really messed with adjustments and cant etc. When I finally did, a degree or two of adjustment often times made a world of difference. Now I don't even know it's there sometimes.
One concern I'd have for the Smart Carry (if I was vertical) is how it works if your off hand is out of commission. Or even holding a beer or your best girls hand. One handed deployment don't seem like an option. Also no reholstering if needed for any reason.
Both valid and important points Colonel. The smart carry, and the urban for that matter have limitations. Though you can deploy the urban one handed (there is a retaining clip to the trigger guard), it and the smart carry are not optimum in as many situations as traditional belt carry can be. But then, as you stated we do what we have to do and both of them have a niche that they fill well.

I like the concept. When I first saw Versa Carry I thought they should run the plastic up around the trigger guard. Looks like they read my thoughts.

These holsters are perfect. I used one with my S&W Bodyguard 380. The external safety gave me peace of mind.

What brand holster is that? I bet it would conceal really well appendix style if you could attach a wing to lever the grip inward (especially if used for one of the bigger Kahrs).

I usually carry my "CM45" except when I need a pocket carry - then it's the PM9. The MK40 is my favorite pistol so I sometimes carry it, if I can handle the weight.

Sorry, the notification on your reply went to my spam box for some reason. It was made by Raven concealment. If you search "Sig P365 minimalist holster", you'll also find a few similar one's, such as one by mission tactical. Some do have the claw/wing. Sorry for the very late reply!
