jd They are the perfect generation to purchase those cars that drive themselves.........................they need a certain amount of the population to buy in to these automobiles ( I use that term lightly) that they are starting to develop and test. Which makes you feel safer on the road, a computer driven car that has its "eyes" on the road, or a "dim" one operating an automobile that has bells and whistles? They don't hear them because they have an earbud in, cranking music, and they're texting at the same time. Many of the autos these days have huge screens and controls and many, many operating systems. Who thought that this generation hypnotic was a good idea??????????

One day we will look back and say OMG can you remember when people used to actually be allowed to drive their own cars…….For now I feel better being in control, staying back and letting the idiots go on……AI and self driving electric vehicles are coming in the future but I’m glad I’ll be gone by then and for now gasoline and V8 power rules, burnt rubber smells like victory to me…….

2. To me, "drink responsibly" means don't spill it.
3. Age 60 might be the new 40, but 9:00 pm is the new midnight.
4. It's the start of a brand new day, and I'm off like a herd of turtles.
5. The older I get, the earlier it gets late.
6. When I say, "The other day," I could be referring to any time between yesterday and 15 years ago.
7. I remember being able to get up without making sound effects.
8. I had my patience tested. I'm negative.
9. Remember, if you lose a sock in the dryer, it comes back as a Tupperware lid that doesn't fit any of your containers.
10. If you're sitting in public and a stranger takes the seat next to you, just stare straight ahead and say, "Did you bring the money?"
11. When you ask me what I am doing today, and I say "nothing," it does not mean I am free. It means I am doing nothing.
12. I finally got eight hours of sleep. It took me three days, but whatever.
13. I run like the winded.
14. I hate when a couple argues in public, and I missed the beginning and don't know whose side I'm on.
15. When someone asks what I did over the weekend, I squint and ask, "Why, what did you hear?"
16. When you do squats, are your knees supposed to sound like a goat chewing on an aluminum can stuffed with celery?
17. I don't mean to interrupt people. I just randomly remember things and get really excited.
18. When I ask for directions, please don't use words like "east."
19. Don't bother walking a mile in my shoes. That would be boring. Spend 30 seconds in my head. That'll freak you right out.
20. Sometimes, someone unexpected comes into your life out of nowhere, makes your heart race, and changes you forever. We call those people cops.

45 years ago Steve Jobs and his partner Steve Wozniak officially incorporated their start up company called Apple Computers which they started in Wozniak’s garage in Spring of 1976……They had been selling their Apple 1 build it yourself computer kit in the mail for $666.66 which seems like a bad idea for a price but who knows, an original working Apple 1 kit computer was recently sold at auction for $400.000…….Jobs and Wozniak got their start in electronics manufacturing in 1971 selling a device they called “The Blue Box” for $150.00 to other students at USC Berkeley which allowed them to hack into the AT&T long distance network and make free calls to anywhere in the United States…….Jobs later said that without the money they made from selling the “Blue Boxes” there would never have been an Apple Inc…………Who say’s crime doesn’t pay…….

when I was a bit younger my Dad had a '54 Chevy p/u with a floor starter .... and later, when I was a bit older, I had a '52 Chevy p/u (had the neat curved rear window corner glass) that had a floor starter. One of my favorite things to do in my Dad's p/u was going into town to pick something up, come out of the store, get in the truck and push the starter button several times without turning on the key. The truck obviously wouldn't start until "I said it could start". Once I felt like my non-starting issue had attracted a little attention I'd get out of the truck and slowly walk around it looking at each wheel .... then go back a wheel or two and give it a good kick. After the "kick" I'd get back in the truck - and this time turn the key - mash the floor button and it would crank up instantly. Over time I had old men sitting on the wood benches in front of stores all over town scratching their heads in amazement. Good times .... rrrrrrr - rrrrrr - rrrrrrr :bump2:

That’s a good one……My dad owned a service station and his shop truck was a 56 Ford F100 step side, 352 V8 and 3 on the tree….It had a key start that for some reason Ford decided to put on the left side of the wheel where you couldn’t see it………There was a Chevrolet Lakewood Assembly plant right down the street and he would let me drive it down to the parking lot when I was 13 or so to do a jump start or change a tire and I loved driving that old truck around……He charged $3.00 for a jump start and $5.00 for a tire change but that included bringing it back to patch the tube, remember tubes?…..I don’t know what happened to that old truck but I would give up one of the boys to have it back today…..

Floor starters: My uncle had a 1948 GMC truck that he drove everyday. It had a floor starter, (but unknown to me, he moved it to a push button on the dash), I was supposed to take a load of melons to the farmers market for him, I tried and tried to get to to go, no joy.
Finally had to call him, and learned about the move. He said the floor starter buttons, shorted out when it was raining, so he moved it. He also converted it from 6-volt to 8-volt, for better starting.

The difference between Guts and Balls.

Guts is coming home steaming, seeing your wife with a broom in her hand and asking if she's still cleaning, or if she's about to fly away on it.

Balls is coming home smelling of perfume, lipstick on your collar, slapping your wife on the ass and saying "your next fatty".

The Tired Marine...
A Marine boarded a train on his way home from deployment. The train was quite crowded, and the Marine walked the entire length looking for a seat. There seemed to be one next to a well-dressed middle-aged French woman, but when he got there he saw it was taken by the woman’s poodle.

The war-weary Marine asked, “Ma’am, may I have that seat?” The French woman sniffed and said to no one in particular, “Americans are so rude. My little Fifi is using that seat.”

The Marine walked the entire train again, but the only seat available was under that dog. “Please, Ma’am. May I sit down? I’m very tired,” he asked again. She snorted, “Not only are you Americans rude, you are also arrogant!”

This time the Marine didn’t say a word; he just picked up the little dog, tossed it out the train window and sat down. The woman shrieked, “Someone must defend my honor! Put this American in his place!”

An English gentleman sitting nearby spoke up. “Sir, you Americans seem to have a penchant for doing the wrong thing. You hold the fork in the wrong hand. You drive your autos on the wrong side of the road. And now, sir, you seem to have thrown the wrong b!tch out the window.”

My dream car was a AA/FA. I was offered the chance to be the driver of one when I lived in Massachusetts. Unfortunately I just was in process of moving to Minnesota. I would of had to cancel my move. They had 90 inch wheelbase and over a 1000 horse power running on nitro methane.

Super familiar... One of those would have certainly satisfied me. I was always afraid of the short wheelbase stuff once I learned what a handful (not that a rail wouldn’t be) they were vs the longer stuff. Pics of my ‘69 Vette I used to race. Was an ill mannered street car that would run mid 11’s with a 100 shot. Miss it!!! Nothing like my dream, but it was a step towards it. Never completed the shiny injun, but think I would have been at 11 flat with it. Dang jiu jitsu injuries had me/has me so I can’t work on ‘em like I used to.

Yeah, I think I posted the story that we donated it to the Texas Military Museum at Camp Mabry in Austin years ago, but they have never put it on display as far as we know.
We checked several years ago and they said they still have it in their vault.
It is a Belgian FN licensed copy - with modifications - of the Browning in 7.9mm. Apparently captured by the Germans when they overran the Low Countries in 1940, then recaptured by US forces in 1945.

Land of the lost...the sleystaks scared me! Looking back, I have no idea why. Just some guys in lizard suits making hissing noises.

Yeah, wasn't the lazy/bad guy on that the same guy that played Dr. Smith on Outer Space? Twelve O'clock high was a good one too. Also, High Chapparal.

Over 70 and Rude
When you're over seventy.............who cares?

I was standing at the bar at the Legion post one night minding my own business
when this FAT ugly chick came up behind me grabbed my behind and said
"You're kinda cute. You gotta phone number?
I said, "Yeah you gotta pen?"
She said, "Yeah I got a pen".
I said, "You better get back in it before the farmer misses you."
Cost me 6 stitches…but,
When you're over seventy.............who cares?

**********

I went to the drug store and told the clerk …"Give me 3 packets of condoms please"
Lady Clerk: "Do you need a paper bag with that sir?";
I said "Nah... She's purty good lookin'…"
When you're over seventy.............who cares?

**********

I was talking to a young woman at the Legion last night.
She said, "If you lost a few pounds had a shave and got your hair cut you'd look all right.";
I said, "If I did that I'd be talking to your friends over there instead of you.";
Cost me a fat lip, but… When you're over seventy............who cares?

**********

I was telling a woman in the Club about my ability to guess what day a woman was born just by feeling her breasts.
"Really" she said, "Go on then.. try."
After about thirty seconds of fondling she began to lose patience and said, "Come on what day was I born?"
I said, "Yesterday."
Cost me a kick in the groin, but…
When you're over seventy..............who cares?

*********

I got caught taking a pee in the swimming pool today. The lifeguard shouted at me so loud, I nearly fell in.
When you're over seventy.............who cares?

**********

I went to our Legion last night and saw a BIG woman dancing on a table.
I said, "Good legs."
The girl giggled and said, "Do you really think so?"
I said, "Definitely! Most tables would have collapsed by now."
When you're over seventy.............who cares?

My dad looked forward to one of my brothers or myself getting a cut, scrape or open head wound when we were kids. He kept the first aid stuff in an old .30 cal can and when that little bottle came out the injured party knew they were in for some real pain! We finally learned it was best to take off into the woods and hide out until a scab had covered up the boo boo. He wasn't quite as fast as we were and he wouldn't climb up a tree after us.

Awww, good times!

Could be why I won't go to the doctor unless brain matter is showing, or I have to hold my intestines in with both hands.

When I was 10 I was doing a wheelie on my bike and had a good one going until my front wheel came down and hit the curb and I was introduced to Mr. Pavement and broke my left forearm, I knew it was broken because of the funny angle and the fact that it hurt like hell but I rode home one handed……I was afraid to tell my grandmother whom I lived with because she worked two jobs and we didn’t have any money or insurance so going to a doctor was out of the question so I found a roll of wide masking tape and wrapped it up good and tight and wore long sleeve shirts to school the next month or so and nobody knew…….To this day it’s got a little bend in it but I survived…….Tonight on the news there was a story showing parents how to double mask their 4 year olds so they would be safe from Covid at kindergarten……..Hope they don’t pass out from oxygen deprivation and skin their knee, they might bleed to death………

Man that would be so unmanly........first bone I ever broke was my back. (Highly not recommended). BUT, I didn't cry. Actually except for the bumps in the road riding in the meat wagon it didn't really hurt. That came later, I just made sure the kids weren't around just in case I cried. Only time I remember wanting to cry was when the pretty little nurse didn't want to run off and live happily ever after with me. She was so cute.

I’m no tough guy and not fond at all of things that hurt….Worst pain I have ever felt was a double cervical disk removal, neck fusion which hurt like a mofo…..The thing with my do it yourself broken arm repair was that I was more afraid of losing my bike than anything else and since all my friends lived a couple miles away (on the good side of the tracks) not having a bike meant my life was over………I never told my Grandmother about it because she had already threatened to sell the bike if I kept doing stunts and wheelies so she never knew……..I learned to ride with one arm pretty good and so long as I could travel about all was good in my world………There are times when pain is the least of your worries……

dao

Well, for the record I didn't cry. But that was the first time I had ever broken a bone other than a toe. And to be honest I think I was in some degree of shock. The wrist wasn't so bad because they put a cast on it. But the collarbone broken at both ends was tough to deal with.
I can no longer carry easily in a shoulder holster on that side. I have modified my Miami Classic rig by adding another strap between the front and rear straps on that side to keep the front one off the gnarly knob at the top of my collarbone. My Kahrs aren't too bad but anything larger becomes a literal pain.
And for what it's worth I still think you're a tough cookie. Tougher than me.
I might cry in front of a nurse...if I thought she'd be impressed by my sensitive self :D

Lady golfer and her caddy
After a game of golf, a lady golfer offered her caddy a ride into town. The caddy thankfully accepted and carried her clubs inside. The lady invited him to stay for lunch and served him a wonderful meal.

She then invited him into the bedroom. He was puzzled but went along out of curiosity. She asked if he wanted to go to bed with her, so he did that too. Later he realized it was time to get back to the course and prepared to leave. The housewife insisted on giving him a dollar before he could go.

This was too much for the poor man, and he asked her, “Miss, what is going on? First, you feed me a delicious meal, and as if that isnʹt enough, you invite me to make love to you, and we have a terrific time together. Now you want to pay me? What is this anyway?”

So she explained proudly, “I told my husband I wanted to do something nice for my caddy who has been so faithful and helped me so much this year, so my husband said, ‘Screw the caddy! Give him a dollar!'”

The lady smiled, “But lunch was my idea.”

The local small town newspaper sent a reporter to cover and interview 92 year old Myrtle Ballbricker’s forth wedding…..The reporter asks her to say a few words about her new forth husband….Myrtle says well he’s a younger man at 87 but in good health and still has all his teeth and has done well as an undertaker and funeral home owner…..The reporter then ask’s Myrtle about her first three husbands and she say’s well the first one was a banker but he was very high strung and died of a stroke a couple years after we married, then I met a circus trapeze performer and we married but he didn’t like using a net so our time together was quite short……Later in life I met a Baptist Preacher and fell in love and were married over 20 years but he didn’t take good care of himself and had a heart attack and didn’t make it so I was single for many years after that until I met my newest husband Earl……..The reporter said, well that’s quite a unique, diverse group of men you have been married to over the years, Myrtle smiled, winked and said, no sonny, you see I had a long term plan all along, it was, one for the money, two for the show, three to get ready and four to go…………

Last Will & Testament:

His nurse, his wife, his daughter and two sons, are with him. He asks for two witnesses to be present and a camcorder be in place to record his last wishes.
When all is ready he begins to speak. “My son, Sam, I want you to take the Ocean Reef houses.”
“My daughter Sybil, you take the apartments between mile markers 100 and Tavernier.”
“My son, Jamie, I want you to take the offices over in the Marathon Government Center.”“Sarah, my dear wife, please take all the residential buildings on the bay side on Blackwater Sound. The nurse and witnesses are blown away as they did not realize his extensive holdings, and as Doug slips away, the nurse says:“Mrs. Boone, your husband must have been such a hard-working man to have accumulated all this property.

The wife replies, “The a$$hole has a paper route”.
