Yep, it's a real dump. Many big business's are just closing or moving somewhere else just because of the safety of their employees. I've always avoided it like the plague and even more so now, no reason to go there.
Fill the city council with liberal foreigners and woke folks, defund the police which were already short handed and underfunded and golly gee whiz, see what happens.

Read Ben Shapiro's book, TRUE ALLEGIANCE, if you want more on how America is doing. It is a NOVEL that tells it like it is [sort of]. Good book that is telling it like it is.

I worked construction downtown a lot in the 80's and early 90's. It was sometimes dangerous then to walk the streets in early morning heading to whatever building we were working on, and so we would mostly carpool and walk in a group. But that was before the wokeness BS that has caused it to become a third world sh!thole. I haven't been there now in years and have no desire or inclination to go back. Which is a shame because it became a very nice and beautiful place just before it became the pigsty that it is today. The new mayor might turn things around if the public gets sick of the socialists on the city council and boots them. But unless that happens the mayor isn't going to make much headway.

This is so true and violent criminals are a cancer on society…..The woke system wants to get away from jail to punish criminals and move towards rehabilitation which sounds good but only works for very few…….I thought the reason for jail was to protect citizens from dangerous criminals and punishment was just an extra added bonus……Just today on the news was a story about Atlanta Police having a new unit to track repeat offenders who have 3 felony convictions but the shocking part of the story was when the Police spokesman said most of their repeat offender arrests have more than 5 previous felony convictions and over 25 arrests……..

If you were a Judge and in your Courtroom was a guy with 5 previous felony convictions and so many arrests on his record that it took more than one page to list and now he was back again for his 6th felony arrest trial why would you waste any time with it and just sentence him to life without parole because there is no hope this criminal will ever change and the system needs to protect law abiding citizens from thugs like him….

Remember, the woke system wants to divide and conquer us. They want all of us so dependent on them that we look to them for everything. In the meantime they will do everything and anything to bring that about. Including feeding us to the wolves.

I was stationed in Seattle from 95 to 98 but lived in Everett. I was told before moving up there not to live in King County. The wife and I liked going into Seattle to eat at a few places that we still talk about today. Went to a few Mariners and Sonics games, but never made it to a Seahawks game for some reason. Never felt unsafe in the city, even going to Pike's Place Market. I can't imagine being there now.

Even took my niece and mum-in-law up the Space Center. Somehow, they found their way back down and back to the house. Hey, at least I gave it a try.

I'm about 20 minutes East of Everett. Everett is still tolerable and pretty much a safe place with a few rough area's. A lot of people around here loved going to Pike Place Market, I enjoyed going to the Seattle Center not long after the fair when they still had rides and vendors, the Bubblelater? The water front used to be fun with the aquarium which is still there far as I know. Went up the Space Needle a few times. Actually one of my wife's class reunions was at the top of the space needle. She was one year behind me, worked out pretty well, all my girlfriends were in her class.
Not any more. I avoid it at all cost.

My dad was a Marine from Missouri, got stationed at pier 91. That's how he met my mom who was from Ballard. Things were different then, he got drafted but a deferred entry as he was the only one that knew how to drive the school bus, so they let him finish out the school year.

Yep, I was Navy. Got stationed at the Naval Readiness Reserve Center (the old Army armory that I believe is a maritime museum now a days) on the south end of Lake Union. If was my first shore duty after doing 3 ships back to back to back over my first 11 years in. I really enjoyed my time in Washington. First time I was able to do any hunting since I got out of school. Great bunch of folks stationed there who also liked to hunt, fish and shoot. Still keep in touch a few of them. Took the kids camping quite often as every other weekend was a 3 day weekend. Did have to work every weekend in between but it wasn't bad at all compared to being on a ship. I know all about Monroe, had a buddy live there until he got transferred and have a buddy who lives still lives there as they stayed after he retired.

It's just a shame what has happened to Seattle, and I'll assume the rest of King County. To be honest, I spent my off time in the mountains to the east much more than I did in Seattle. I do miss a restaurant called "Cheng's", though. We have something similar down in the Springs but Chengs was still better. Went to the Sportsman show every year I was up there in...I forget the name of the place at the moment...south of Seattle. Really got my wife upset when I brought home a Browning Buckmark, that I still have to this day. I told I saved us $$$ by how little I spent on it brand new at the show. Don't recall what I paid, or if I really did get a good deal, but I do recall they were hard to find during that time and a bit pricey.

Probably Puyallup? A gun show. They still have one every month or did till this year, now there's 3 or 4 a year there and they have 3 or 4 a year here in Monroe. I go every show. Usually leave empty handed but I love looking around and usually feel bad having to leave something behind that I'd love to take home.

Could have been, it was the annual show with everything to do with hunting and fishing. Sat in on a seminar which was given by Jim Zumbo who was talking about elk hunting. Ended up buying his cow call and still use it today. He had talked about how using a cow call will stop elk in their tracks and I had to give it a try. I've gotten my fair share of elk over the years, sometimes using his call to stop them so I could get a shot.

I used to go to the monthly show in Monroe every now and then, too. Used to go shoot at the range just east of Marysville, too.
