I have 2 new old stock (unused, not in factory packaging) magazines that will fit your PM45 or CM45. I’m looking for someone who would like to trade for a Beretta 92/M9 9mm magazine. Looking for an unrestricted mag that says M9 on it (Mec Gar made, I believe). I’ll ship mine on my dime so long as you do the same. Not wanting the one’s for the 92S, which would have a mag catch hole for a heel mag release. If you have one, and would trade, pleas respond and send me pics to make sure it’s the model magazine I’m after. Thanks!

That would be great Colonel! I’ve bought a Taylor Freelance magazine extension with extra power spring for that mag. The 2 mags I have are restricted, so the springy she no fitty.

Bird, you mentioned tinkering with a Beretta right now, what are you doing with it?

Restricted? What does that mean? The base plate doesn't come off?

Building 2, a 92 FS and a 92 S. Both will have SGS style compensators by Ric Gandy, custom grips, lanyard delete, extended mags. FS I will alter Pearce under grip 1911 finger grooves. The S will be all polished and nickeled. Both semi- Resident Evil knock off looks.

Mag trade deal has been struck, so no longer available.

OMCH... The compensators in the pics were too expensive ($650-$750) AND require either a Centurion slide, or cutting off the front sight. None of which I was willing to pay or do, so kinda making my own versions of these. The first compensator, with the big ol’ holes is still “in developement” according to who’s making them anyways, so I also did not want to wait. Last pic is the grips I had custom designed/made by a guy in Turkey. Those are going on the blued, 92FS.

Bird, I got you. Once upon a time, I shot pretty regular at Navy Fleet and All Navy Pistol (and rifle) matches. During those days, it was inevitable that your mind desires a NM conditioned M9, but the procedure was potentially destructive to the frame (pressing in steel inserts for slide to frame tightening), and it cost around 2K + the gun. I got cold feet and instead let Ernest Langdon do a trigger job, install some NOT great adjustable (LPA, I think) sights and a BarSto barrel. It was nice, but did not make the 50 yd cut, so I stayed with old slabsides (never did go distinguished, I have 26 of 30 points.)

Here was that project, obviously I added that comp after deciding it was not a bullseye gun...

When I started at the police department as a office puke/armorer we carried 92FS's with a couple 92F's in the mix. Then went to 96's in 40, and third and last transition (hated transitions) went to Glock 21 45's. Took me 15 years to get there but I was happy. Not long after I retired they completed the circle and went back to Glock 9's with Red Dot sights, glad I missed that.

You mention Distinguished. I just finished reading White Feather moments ago. Read it before and gave my copy to my son the ex Marine. Bought another copy and read it again, great read. Amazing man. Now I gotta read Marine Sniper 92 Confirmed again.

Thanks for your service OMC and your wife's also.

Thanks for MY service? Heck, I woulda never met such a fine gal if Uncle Sam hadn't hired me! Thanks for the job!

I met Hathcock once, at a gun show in Charleston (or Norfolk?). He was a real "no-shitter", and although his health had gone to heck, he still had the fire... An honor, but I will tell you, I met and worked with a lot of honorable men and women in my time in the club... just not as famous...

Talk about famous; we were going through old albums as we were unpacking, and came across a pic of my dad with his crew cut and elbow patched sport coat, showing a huge bank of IBM computers to some Air Force brass in Alaska, and this old pic, I just realized, the 3 star that he was showing all this crap to was none other than Curtis Lemay. I guess the God-like aura had faded in the pic over the years...

Man, you guys are full of interesting stories. Or full of something! :p
OMCH, that’s a SWEET looking M9!!! I love, LOVE target sights. Too bad it did not work as you wished. Yes, hard to beat a 1911 at the range. I’ve never done the competitive or qualifying stuff, but with my plinking I’ve been amazed by what a 1911 can do when one does their part. To date, a Colt Competition (9mm) was the most accurate thing I’ve ever shot. An STI was second and then a DW. Sadly all gone in a stupid decision to start a new business, which is now defunct. Maybe I’m a dumb a, but these days I prefer to make guns look cool vs doing the accuracy stuff. Anything I carry I just do short range, defensive distance “instinctive” shooting (quickly point and shoot without using the sights), but do keep a 5” 1911 or 2 in case I feel like taking the target to the end of the range. Mostly just when I take new shooters and try to learn them about DA vs SA. Love that M9 of yours!!!

No worries, at that time the Brig was one of the few (only?) that had a dovetail front sight. Langdon's work was impeccable, but I tried "getting by", and that didn't cut it! I eventually found an older bullseye shooter who sold me his Rock River (not to be confused with Rock Island!) National Match hardball gun. It will be all I ever need and instantly removed ANY excuse gun related that I could have conjured up...

Pierce 1911 under grip finger grooves came in, so got them "fitted"!

I have heard their name often, and good things about them (Langdon).
I've heard of Rock River too. Sounds like you've got a laser one there!!!
Off to ship out some mags now!

Dang, I think I found a set of those under grip finger grooves for a 1911 while searching for my Hi Power Mags. Finding all kinds of stuff except what I'm looking for.

I did the same thing a few months back and threw them on a little Kimber. Fits like a glove now.
I was excited by the look, but if you look at the pic (I snapped the pic as soon as I was done “fitting” them), the top finger groove is too close to the trigger guard. I can force/cram that top finger into the groove, but not as comfy as the Kimber. I may either run with it, scrap the idea or go back to the drawing board. I just got that set off fleabay for $12, so thought I’d take the low dollar risk. Worked out well with the Glock 19 grip for the CW45, and was hoping for another win. Sometimes I just gotta try!

I wonder if a set of the Beretta finger groove grips would fit your hand, they felt big, but comfy for me.

They do, and the gun actually came with a set, but my goal was to put on the custom grips and also have the finger grooves (best of both worlds). Thanks man!

Careful with those 1911 finger grooves that go under the grips. I had mine on my 1911 for years and the rubber started stretching enough to significantly rub on the magazine from the frame holes underneath the grips. I like them, but had to adjust them at one point and recently took them off.

What did you do with the G19 grips for the CW45? I am OK with my CW45, but would love some comfortable grips with a palm swell that doesn't leave the bottom of my TP45 uncovered.

Also some M9 love... I didn't think I would like the WC thin grips, but I REALLY like the feel of them on my M9. The sides of the grip smoothly transition to the backstrap unlike the stock grips. The pic doesn't show off the polished trigger well, but I got it to a mirror shine:

I wouldn’t have thought about that. Thanks! I did have to really stretch the bottom of the under grip finger groove product to get each of the lower screw holes to get around the lower bushings. I could imagine that fatiguing over time.
The Wilson grips do look REALLY good on your M9. Too bad they are too thin for you. You must have some big ol’ mitts!
The G19 slip on grip was just a slide on affair. As usual, it was a struggle to get on, but I didn’t make any cuts or modifications to make it work. The outside of the beavertail section (upper part of the slip on) Is not a perfect fit, with a slight bit of protrusion, but not so much as to be garish. Certainly acceptable for the gains in comfort and grip, at least in my book. I know there are a few different generations of G19’s out there, so if you want to repeat what I did let me know. I can let you know the specs so you can at least get whatI got. Cheers man!
