View Full Version : Covert frame with CM9 upper?

Now that I own two CM9s that are essentially identical, I've begun to wonder if a PM9 Covert frame would function reliably with a CM9 upper assembly. I've always liked the idea of mounting a light on the frame rail of a pistol on special occasions and thought it would be really handy if I could put my Olight Mini PL-2 Valkyrie on a CM9 or PM9.

As of this moment, I've got a Recover Tactical frame rail adapter for my Gen 3 Glock 26 and the Olight should fit perfectly. However, it takes a bit of time and effort to mount the adapter and once mounted, none of my Glock holsters will fit. Having that option with a CM9 would solve that little problem.

Anyone try this yet? Does Kahr even sell a Covert frame by itself? (Guess I'll check their website to see if it's promoted.) Thanks much.

I'm sure they won't sell a lone frame, because it's the registered component of the firearm. They supply them from time to time for warranty issues but that's about it I believe, unless you're a registered reseller with an FFL. They might in that case. Ever thought about at P9-2, an S9, or the like? But from the sounds of it what you're after is this:

Yep, cool gun for sure. I did not know that they made them with Optics cut. (Not that I am interested in Optics)

I really like that new PM9 Covert but it’s a bit expensive for what it is.

Yeah, I could convert my Glock 26 to fulltime WML carrier and afford to buy a holster to fit it and be bucks ahead compared to buying a new Covert model. After all, once you start getting into that size range, it loses a lot of its CC appeal and one might as well get an OWB high-ride holster for the Glock AND have some real firepower options.
