Out of curiosity...does anyone know if Kahr is still making the K40, and if not... why not?

I was told by a reliable source very recently that Kahr is not making the 40 at the moment. They did say that making it again in the future is a possible thing. But not enough demand and other things taking precedence at the moment.

What a shame! I think the K40 is Kahr’s finest piece. If I could keep only 1 gun in my collection, it would be my K40.

I didn't know this. I've got an early carbon steel K40 w/ night sights in my safe. It's a great shooter with the original rubber grips! However, I would like to dress her up a bit with some checkered wood grips!

Might be able to fix you up sharpetop. Got a couple homeless. I'll see what's checkered and what I got.

Sorry for the late response, my 87 y\o mother fell and shattered a femur, so I've been dealing with that, among her other health issues.

Let me know what you've got, maybe we can strike a deal!

Seeing the scarcity of stainless K40's... I decided to purchase a "used" one with Crimson Trace laser grips. I got it for $399.00 plus transfer. Like most "concealed carry" firearms... it looks barely used (if used at all?). :)

I know it's been awhile! Did you come up with anything?

Agreed it is one of their finest guns. I have had a K40 in Black since 2013 with no issues and typically shoot it once a month or more. The only thing I did discover is non-OEM magazines are crap and fit is usually terrible.
