Anyone else getting the following warning message when they try to access KahrTalk? Just started today using FireFox, Internet Explorer seems to run fine. Looks like Google/FireFox are now reporting KahrTalk as an attack site!! :target:

LZ, did your messages just start today or before? I wonder if it has something to do with adjustments the mods are making these days?

You think JohnH is a gosh darn Russian spy? I'm not getting no gate crasher warning signals but I think my computer pretty much set in trusting mode.
It has been asking me about alot of other sites, like my work email. (go figure.

You think JohnH is a gosh darn Russian spy?

Nah, JohnH seems like a good enough fellow. I just think that some sort of change has been made in settings (potentially) that now warns and prevents Google/FireFox users from accessing the site, unless they ignore the message or set their security lower. We'll see what progresses from here.

My windows Vista crashed last night after I chose to ignore the Firefox warning about this site.
Had to boot into safe mode, do a sys. restore and run Malwarebytes to locate and delete the bug--trojan--whatever it was.
I was also being redirected to several different websites at some point.
What a mess .

I'm posting this from a Linux distro on my other computer since Linux isn't vulnerable to this stuff.
Anyway, there's definitely something potentially bad here.

I couldn't even get here and stay this long without resorting to Google's Chrome browser. This sucks. I normally use Mozilla Firefox and I'm unwilling to stop it's safety feature of blocking reported bad sites.
This is my first attempt at getting this far. Someone needs to check in with the Warning site and get this one cleared.
I guess I could have used my Linux Easygate (hardware on motherboard) or whatever... I have to select my OS or it defaults to Ubuntu (I setup a dual boot with two hard drives, which turned out to be a mistake, but that's another story) which sucks, 'cause every time I got there, there's a gazillion updates and takes forever to download and update. This is really handy when Windows updates and reboots automatically... bringing up Ubuntu.
I don't turn my computer off becuase it takes so long to close and bring it back up... and that's with a very fast Quad-CPU. :(

I am on it. Nothing changed by me, so must be something with the host end. They run the server OS.

From what I was seeing it looked like it was the host server had a problem. Looked like a car audio site and forum had the bug, and Google/Firefox tore up the server and since we're part of that, we took a large hit as well.

I thought maybe it had something to do with our "bumper" the other day.

MikeyKahr sorry for the delay. I was just now able to get back on the site. My problems surfaced after the last upgrade/configuration change etc. I have tried on three diferent machines using XP/Vista/Windows 7 and I get the same error/warning page.

I hate to say this, but when I cleared my history and cookies (it does it when I close my browser too), I still get that warning. IE works and that's how I've been here the last two days, but I can't stand IE. I'll try again when I get home and see if I can delete my cookies from the c drive.

History? Cookies? IE? Where you people from anyhow? Seems to be working fine for me. My wife just made some chocolate chip cookies. They are really good and even still warm. Would love to share but the logistics are just too overwelming. Sorry.

I still can't use Mozilla Firefox. I cleared everything. I had to use Google's Chrome... after 2 ignore and press on anyway deals, I'm here. I don't know much about Chrome, though.
Ditto on IE 8 or whatever. I use that to get Windows updates... and only then because MS requires it.

Don't know much about history, don't know much biology... :9:

Don't mind us B, we're just being geeks. :nerd: Hope the reloading is back up in gear and going well for you now that you got the part from Hornady. I'll trade you my knowledge of history/cookies/IE for your reloading knowledge....and some of those warm chocolate cookies!

Now your talking sense. I'll take ya up on that deal. The reloader is on line. I just pumped out 150 45's in a couple eye blinks and I wasn't going fast. I put a metal leg to support the bench and that helped things immensely. Rock solid now. I put the same over on my single stage so that should work better too.
I figure these computer cookies must have something to do with when you buy stuff. Seems I can't put stuff in my shopping cart no more which is actually a good thing. Don't spend no loot that way, course don't get much stuff in the mail either. Says my cookies don't like it or there's too many of em or not enough, always worked fine before. Don't know what happened to em. Maybe I got one of them tapeworm viruses in my computer. Kids do all that unnatural facebook and download music stuff, lots of freaky looking dudes in those arenas, probably gave me something.

I'm in the same boat as jlottmc. "Scoot over!" :p I can't stand IE, but it's the only way I can get on right now. Cleared history, cookies, files and checked FireFox setting - no luck even tonight. I'll try again tomorrow.

Stay tuned guys. The hosting company is working on it. We are on a shared virtual server, so multiple forums are affected. Hopefully there will be some resolution today.

I have found that sinse I have come back over to my work machine instead of my laptop that I use on weekends and at home, that life is worse yet. My spell checker doesn't do it while I type anymore, and things look funny with the font and stuff too. I really don't like IE especially this version. But I will put up with it to be here as I can.

I'm used to Firefox, but I can't get here with it. I'm using Chrome, but I'm not familiar with it.
I moved the other topic to General Discussion, where it can be discussed.:)

For those still getting the message on Firefox, you can stop it be disabling the safety stop as follows:

On the menu bar select Tools then Options then Security then un-check "Block Reported Attack Sites" then click OK and restart Firefox.

I'm using Chrome because I didn't want to disable any "safety features" as long as I have a way of getting here.
I spent about three hours over at my buddy's place yesterday, trying to get rid of a trojan he picked up while doing some risky surfing online WITHOUT updated and adequate protection. It was one of those extortion-ware things... the 2010 Antivirus program that offers to fix the problems that it says it's finding on your computer... incidentally, the ones it's causing. You really don't want to give your credit card info to anything like that!
It disabled protection, disabled control-alt-delete/Program Manager, and when I finally booted with the OS disc and ran restore to a previous point, prior to the infection... those wouldn't work, either. I tried three separate restorations without success. I used up my limited toolbox and he had absolutely nothing to offer... no backups or boot/repair discs. I had bought the latest Norton Suite last year and installed it for him, but "it slowed" his 10-year old Pentium 4 with 256MB RAM down and he disabled or removed most of it.
Too late for him, I added password protection for system access and setup, but he had no administrator password, either, and one of the frequent messages was "disabled by Administrator"... malware protection and Program Manager, among other things. Bellsouth DSL offers free McAfee Suite software and updates for the first computer. He turns his computer on, uses it, and then turns it off and his software is never updated.
I like protection, especially when I'm being adventurous.

The only word I understand in this entire post is chrome. If they make a chrome computer I want one. At least it'll be cool to look at when it's broken and ticking me off. I'm sure I'm in worse shape than your buddy. I might as well use mine for target practice and go buy a new one. Maybe get one with one of them jetpack geeks that comes and tells it what to do when it misbehaves.

I've dabbled with computers since the late 70's when Radio Shack had the leading edge TRS80 with 16 KILOBYTES RAM... that's 16,000 bytes or 128,000 bits. For the last 15 years I've been building my own, but I'm no expert... I can barely keep mine running sometimes. Assembling a bunch of components or adding components to existing systems can be a real challenge and "fun", trying to get them to work with each other... but sometimes it's like hitting your thumb with a hammer or beating your head against a wall... it feels better when you stop.:D

Oh, Chrome is Google's free browser... like Internet Explorer, only probably better... I'm not sure. My favorite is Mozilla Firefox, but it can have problems, too.

File name: "novtepp.com/coffe/index.php?s=IBB@G"

You have a couple of years on me - I started with a Commodore 64 with a huge 64 K of RAM and, of course, no HDD. It was a portable unit with a five inch 16 colour monitor.

I started Conner Computing Systems in the 80's and in it's hayday, I was building 12 - 15 systems a month in my spare time. It's pretty much defunct today, because I can't make any money building a $400 system, which is what most people want today. I still build myself a high line system every 6 - 8 months and a few bleeding edge gaming systems a year.

I use Chrome when I'm in a hurry and want speed, but mostly I use FireFox because of the "addons" that Chrome doesn't have.

My computer has been under attack ever since the event that precipitated me to start the thread. I've tracked it back to whatever I picked up that night I visited KahrTalk. I'm pretty ticked as I like being here and learning and contributing, but I'm going to hold off on visiting here with my personal computers until things get fixed and cleaned up. See you on the other side.

I helped my buddy buy a new computer at Costco yesterday. It comes with a six month subscription to Norton and his Internet Provider, Bellsouth/AT&T gives you McAfee Suite free for the first computer... with updates. After he removes the old one and fixes his computer room up like he wants, I'll go over and help him get started... he's kind of a turnitonanduseitonly guy... knows nothing more than that. I like to get into things and replace components or build my own... can be "fun" or a PITA sometimes.

Hey! This could be the start of attacks from the gun banners... and I don't means flags... the prohibitionists.:(

Wynn I have been thinking that very thing since this all started. It is kinda frustrating, but I also wonder about how many new comers are running to the hills when they see that warning. I also wonder how much this whole thing is affecting traffic, I know there are the die hards that still find a way, but still.
