View Full Version : Guys, I'm too lazy to search a P380 problem

Purchased a new P380 a while ago, and I've run about 250-300 rounds through it. Today I ran 100 rounds through it and had 4 instances where the slide locked back. I'm left-handed so my fingers don't come into contact with the slide-stop.
What do I need to do to fix this? Thanks.

Here's a thread that I think addresses your issue I think. Pressed for time myself at the moment but I'm pretty sure it was referred to just recently for the same issues your haveing.
Good luck.

Thanks B'man, I'll check it out. I'm sure that the pistol was re-assembled properly, so the spring isn't where it's NOT supposed to be!!!!

Unless you understand that little spring... what it does and how it should look, and how to carefully insert the slide lock pin, it's very easy to damage it on insertion... both the left side which fits into the groove and holds the pin in place and the little free part on the right that hopefully winds up on top of the inner ledge on the back of the slide lever, which gives the downward pressure to keep the slide form locking back until the follower pushes it up on empty. Either or both of those parts can be easily damaged... bent.

I'm pretty sure it's not damaged-the gun's gone through over 200 rounds and it's happened a total of about 7 times. I'm guessing if the spring was screwed up it would fail alot more often than that. Thanks for the info!!!!

Wonder if you dropped your firm grip on those. Sometimes just getting a little loose with the grip will make bad things happen.
Late in a range session sometimes makes these things happen too. Course 200 ain't a long session unless you were shooting alot thru something else.
I determined that my PM45 was balking because I didn't put the little cross tray thing down in my shooting lane and I was kind of holding high to clear it and stretching a bit too. They usually allow me to put it down which I will do from now on. No issues when I can shoot naturally.
