In tow from the Houston Ship Channel down through Galveston Bay to the dry dock for hull repairs that will stretch into the springtime.

I read something about this in a news feed today. Keel laid in 1910, launched in 1912 and commissioned in 1916, IIRC. Saw service in both WW1 and WW2. Good to see they have the funds and the want to repair and preserve our Naval history.

She was commissioned in 1914, fought in both world wars, was at D-Day, and served as a museum ship on display at San Jacinto Battlefield State Park since 1947.
Last dreadnaught afloat from the WW1 era.

Looking pretty good for her age.

It was cool to take the tour a few years back. It was surprising to look inside the main gun turret. Wow it was tight in there for three complete gun crews dodging the recoil of a Fourteen-inch guns...
Peace
