Long ago I came to the conclusion there is no operational or shooting-related benefit to upgrading from the stock recoil spring guide rod to a stainless version -- the stock guide rod works well (as long as it's not plastic) -- but when the end is checkered, it just "looks cool". :cool:
My former supplier of pre-checkered SS guide rods is out of business (thought I'd read the owner got sick...) so I bought a plain SS rod from Kahr, then put on my magnifying headset and broke out the swiss needle files -- and voila!
Here she is! I think it came out OK (looks better in real life than the LARGE image does...)
