I bought a used CM40 and now I think I know why the guy was selling it. It fairly frequently will not fire. The trigger is under load but you have to pull it all the way back until it hits the stop, and even then it feels like the striker is just barely able to slip off the cam thingie. Other times it feels like a normal Kahr trigger but 2-3 times a mag it will either take the extremely long pull or will go all the way back and still not release. Where should I start to correct it?

We had another member recently with a similar issue. He found that the trigger bar tab was tweeked a little bit. I'd take a look at the trigger bar and spring first. Remove the little panel on the right grip. Probably has a torx screw holding it on, they gently pry it off. See what that looks like while pulling the trigger and we'll go from there.

Here’s the link Bawanna is referring to. I’m thinking you can fix it:

I put a little bend in the trigger bar to shorten the effective distance between the hook and the contact surface of the striker cam. It feels like it helped bu I won’t know until I shoot it. Thanks for the help so far.

Good deal. Let us know how it goes.

I finally got the chance to fire it today and it was 100%. Putting a little bend in the trigger bar was all it took to make it fire reliably. Thanks for the help everyone.
Thanks for the followup. Not everyone takes the time to do so.
