Well, I’m bored so here are the recent events in my neck of the woods.

Last week I was going through the safe and came across a PM45 I picked up from grab a gun in 2019, new old stock with 3 mags for an excellent price. I don’t think I have shot it but once in the past maybe right after I got it because I can’t remember how it even went.

So I decided to do some work on it since it was like new. Took it all apart and cleaned everything. Then I polished the breach face of the slide, along with the top and both sides of the inside of the slide where the barrel makes contact till it was slick. Polished the hole in the front also. Then polished the barrel to a mirror finish. Polished the slide rails on the slide then the front dust cover rails. Oiled it up and put it together. Man that slide felt like it was a sled on ice.

Took it to the indoor range today after I dropped off the wife (since the wife was shopping and I didn’t want any part of that.) Put 50 rounds of 230 gr. FMJ and 25 rounds of gold dot. Man that gold dot put a fire ball out the barrel. Fed everything just as sweet as could be. I forgot how stout the 45 was in that small package, but still accurate and manageable. Did get a blister on the knuckle of my strong hand thumb back at the web of the hand though.

I forgot how light it was with an empty mag, just under 20 oz. if I remember correctly. Got to find me a good thin holster now to put this in the carry option category. Loaded it weighs almost the same as my metal frame Kimber Evo SP loaded. I couldn’t believe that.
