U.S. munitions stockpiles are rapidly being depleted as the Ukraine war continues. Sufficient stockpiles of munitions are vital to the U.S. defense. Once the stockpiles are expended, the Department of Defense cannot simply buy more munitions—manufacturing takes years. Congress and the Department of Defense must ensure that the U.S. has sufficient stockpiles to meet the challenges of the modern era while working with manufacturers to make the industry as responsive as possible.

This may be the case for 9mm because it's a NATO caliber but I doubt that it holds true for .380, .40S&W, or .45acp. Or 10mm. Not basing this on being in the know, because I'm not but I just don't see what are primarily American calibers being used in large numbers in places that don't have large supplies of what are also essentially American firearms. Just my $.02

consider that all of the manufacturers are tooled up and cranking out massive amounts of the NATO stuff ... and using all the supply of ammunition components available. "Government contracts" are what's killing the consumer market ... we went through this during "thu wun's" years when he ordered a few billion rounds of ammo for every stinking department in the fedgov to arm up his "police force that would be as powerful as the military".
As a reloader (only), my bunch is for sure at the bottom of the food chain when it comes to components. Our powder, primers, brass and projectiles are usually available only when the standard consumers of factory ammunition are satisfied. Ain't no one being satisfied now except for the fedgov and the Ukraine.
If I really stretch out my little stash of various caliber components, they may last a couple of years ... and when, or if, they actually come back on the shelf I doubt that I would be able to afford them then. I'm sure that's the attitude that the current loony left wants to hear.
Getting close to having to whittle pointy sticks.

Ukraine isn’t shooting up that much 5.56, as most all their small arms are AKs - at least those I’ve seen in hundreds of videos so far this year.
I do admire the way they are reducing the Russian military strength and exposed it as a massive paper tiger.

Army, I would not want to get into a politics discussion here, but you may want to do a deep dive as to who/what Ukraine really is in relation to America/Americans. You might have your eyes opened to some truths that have been hidden from you due to the massive media/gov psyops that have been hoisted upon us citizens. NWO, Davos, The Great Reset... things that can tell you what I'm talking about should you choose to do some research.

I’ve seen videos from people in Ukraine who show that there is no war going on at all. Some training exercises and street theater, but no war.
So why pretend? To launder money and distract us, I guess; like everything else.

Always good to hear that others are aware. I try to get others to become aware if think they are not, but try to do so with kid gloves. John I also saw videos like those. Crisis actors as if they were making a movie scene.

All government contracts must be filled before any civilian supplies are filled. If a manufacturer has a contract they will be shifting all production to filling those contracts. If that article is correct, you can expect to see the same shortage issues as we saw previously.
Primers are the #1 issue, powder is #2.

Sorry guys, but I do not adhere to extremist conspiracy theories from Internet “experts”.

The last three ammo shortages seem to have deleted everything but 40 S&W.
I love that stuff, shoot it well and have many guns in that caliber :)
