After waiting an eternity for it to come, I got my laser bore sight delivered today. I love it. I have not been to the range in a bit and have 3 red dot’s and 2 scopes that need sorting out. In about 10 minutes time I got the 3 red dot’s lined up, at least from one side of my house to the other. Should save me a few rounds when I get to the range to dial them in at greater distances. I went ahead and left them a few clicks above the bore sight dot, knowing I would be shooting further out. So far, seems like a great investment. So easy to use!

Yes they are a time and ammo saver. I have a few of the brass/aluminum cartridge type. Had to exchange a couple given the dot was not concentric with the cartridge. Funny, the more expensive brass types were of worst quality than the lower cost aluminum. The instructions are quite detailed about the distance to initial distance in zeroing. Setting up multiple EOTECH dots were quick and easy. They were dead nuts at 50yds.
So, what type did you purchase?

Hey DJ, here's some pics of the one I got. Good hearing you have had such a good experience with them. I'm hoping the results at the range will be as good as yours was. I have had one of the little brass one's for a bit. I tried it on the CW9, but could not close the slide with it inserted, so of course the barrel was tilted up, making it useless. But, now that I think about it, it may be useful in one of the AR9's! Glad you got my brain thinking on that!19557

Nice. So are there ‘adaptors’ to center it in the bore?

Yes. It came with I think 9 different one’s. A little chart explains which one is for what range of calibers. They screw into the skinny end (even came with a little screwdriver). As you scrw them tighter, they expand, so you get a small range of size out of each one. The one that’s on in the pictures is for 9mm. I first did the .22 (Ruger Charger), then removed it and did 2 AR9’s.

Interesting story regarding one of those bore sighters. I was on another forum several years ago watching a S&W AR-10 .308 post. There was a guy who swore that he had a defective rifle and the barrel split like a banana peel on the first shot. He tried to get Smith and Wesson to pay for a new barrel but they would only sell him a new one at 80% the cost of a new rifle. He was raising a stink about the whole thing and folks started asking him about the chain of events that led up to the first shot. He talked about mounting his rifle scope, zeroing it with a red dot, then taking the first shot that led to the banana barrel. Everyone was pondering how a barrel like that could get out the factory. I replied to the post asking if he remembered to remove the bore sight before shooting the first round, and all you heard was crickets.
He then admitted that yes he left the bore sight in the barrel. Not sure if he didn’t realize it until then or what. The thread then turned to how S&W was over charging for a barrel. But at least he admitted he screwed up. We all have done that ( Thread drift begins) I wonder sometimes if I screwed up getting married 35 years ago, because I look at my 34 year old son, 11 years navy, single, seen the world literally, buys all the guns and stuff he likes, no steady girlfriend, retiring in 9 years, and happy as can be. Of course if there was no wife there would be no son, and I wouldn’t have been as successful as the wife was good moral support, and she’s good over all. So I guess the moral of the story is you’re damned if you do and damned if you don’t, gotta take the bad with the good.

I would certainly love to have an AR45, but already have multiples in the other calibers. Super appealing to me though!

yqtszhj: Man, that’s a crazy story. I will make sure not to try and run one with that in there! ;)
Glad you can see the silver lining in what life has brought you, and what the alternatives could have been. I have gotten very lucky in life, but see others who have not had the same fortunes. My heart goes out to them as life is short and living unhappy must just plain suck. I think my thankfulness has attracted more good in my life. I try to remember to give thanks every day, multiple times throughout the day.

Regarding ygtszhj's story...I believe the Blues Brothers nailed it! "It's cheaper to keep her"

I think you are right. Truth be told she probably came out on the short end…… she got stuck with me.
Funny thing that she said one day. I brought her back from overseas after getting married over there and English is not her first language so sometimes the meaning of a sentence gets twisted in translation. One day I did something like an A-hole and she told me “I will always love you, but I don’t like you every day.” I had to think about that for a minute then I asked “do you mean there are some days you don’t like me? Or do you mean that you dislike me every day?” She said “yes.” Im still questioning that one… but I ain’t asking again.
:biggrin1: Mens and womens will be eternally different. I've found that it's best sometimes to proceed without all the information. Sounds like you've come to the same conclusions... often I'll just nod and smile, maybe think about it a bit later on, and then file it away for future reference... if I remember.

Lol! My wife is Japanese. I have had a few funny experiences, hearing what she was saying incorrectly and teaching her what she should say instead. Here’s 3 of them:
What she said vs what she meant..
”I’ve been pulling everyone’s leg around here”! She meant to say weight, not leg.
”I knew that right from the gecko”! She meant to say get go.
”That’s a blessing in the skies”! She meant to say in disguise.
