Does anyone know if the stainless framed, black slide MK9s have a DLC coating or just a standard blue or Parkerized? I'm considering buying one but will only do it if it's a high quality coating like the DLC.
Thanks!

Mine is a DLC-like finish, similar but not exactly like my black DLC P380.

And where did you find the sweet grip panels? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20230112/85ee70f6213360d3a5ae229625253295.jpg

I owned one that was manufactured in 2000. Purchased new in 2010.
Had the Birdsong black finish. It started getting hairline cracks and scratches in 2019 after being carried for 9 yrs.

I do have the box. It is stored inside another box somewhere. On the original box, the finish is listed as BOX. My understanding, after calling Kahr, is that is an abbreviation for Black Oxide.
I purchased the grips from Lakeline LLC.

it looks like the only ones in stock are the black/tan grips.

Beretta and I had similar, but different, MK9’s. His had the Birdsong finish, which is different than the finish that is on my MK9. The Birdsong finish was a more limited run of pistols.

Iwander: His grips are by Lakeline, LLC. I once had a K9 and put them on as well. Very well made and very “grippy”. Really jazzes up the looks of a K9 in my opinion.

I have an all black MK9 Elite 2000 that I bought back in '03. It has a Robar finish on it. Sadly they no longer finish firearms, having closed down that portion of their business a couple of years back. The finish on my MK9 is more of a satin, and is smoother than the DLC Kahrs that I have. I don't know if Kahr ever produced another gun with the Robar finish on it, but if I found one I'd buy it. Mine was manufactured in December of '00.

This is classy! BBQ gun if there ever was one. Like to do that maybe to my T but won't happen with me at the wheel.
Yeah, Bird does 'em up right!

Thanks everyone. I've seen the Birdsong finish before and it's very nice.
Lakeline still has the grips, so I'll check them out if I get the MK9.
Bird, the grips really compliment the polished finish and make the gun pop!
