I have a matt silver Desert Eagle in 50AE* I have Weaver high mount
rings on it, in black* I tried some silver paint, from Walmart, that had
primer built in to the formula* The handgun scope I have on it is silver*
I want to paint the rings silver, to match the gun, and scope mount* I
painted the rings silver, with this paint* A few weeks later, after shooting
the pistol at the range, I was cleaning it, and the oily rag wiped the silver
paint right off of the rings! Any suggestions on what type of paint I should
use? Please don't suggest buy new rings, in silver* I already have these
and want to just paint them silver, with paint that will actually stay on!
Any suggestions as to type, or brand of paint?

I'd probably like the contrast myself but putting that a side, it's critical to get the rings absolutely clean and oil free. Might even have to apply blue and rust remover to get a clean surface. Also might help to sand them to get some texture. Rings are generally quite smooth so any paint would have a hard time sticking. If you have access to a bead blaster that would be the ticket. Avoid the scope contact area but blast everywhere else.
I have no experience directly with it but there are some paints that you bake after application. No idea, it might be more expensive than new rings.

Thanks for the tip, Bawanna! I'll give it a try!

The paint from Walmart probably will not hold up with solvents. You should try GunKote or Norell's Moly Resin in matte stainless and follow their instructions.
