There is actually one of these yards in Minnesota. I spent a day once just walking through MEMORY LANE drooling over all the old cars and trucks they had. They have rows and rows of cool old cars etc.

I'd like a Mercedes Diesel van, low top, 4x4 tad longer than the standard van size. Don't relish car payments thought. And there's a little 66 chevy pickup down the block I've been trying to talk the guy out of for years. Don't know if it runs, been setting a long spell. No doubt need a lot of work I'd have to pay for but sure be nice to cruise around in all fixed up.

who shuffled into a waterfront bar.

music, every voice was silenced. What followed was a rhapsody of sound

The bartender took the old Senior Chief a beer and asked him the name of the song he had just played. "It's called, 'Drop Your Skivvies, Baby!, We're Gonna Rock Tonight'," said the old Senior Chief after he took a long pull from the beer.

The bartender and the crowd winced, but the piano player went on with a knee-slapping, hand-clapping bit of ragtime that had the place jumping. A cowboy named Bud was overseeing his herd in a remote mountainous pasture in Montana when suddenly a brand-new 2018 BMW advanced toward him out of a cloud of dust. Four Irish lads Shawn, Patrick, Colin and Aengus always went fishing on St Paddy's day to celebrate and down a few pints but this was the year Shawn got married and his new bride wouldn't allow him to take part in the plan knowing what always went on and said he must spend the day with her....

Well this bummed ole Shawn and his friends but he said the other three should go on and have a good time without him so they did but when they got to the fish camp there was Shawn with the fire going and a cold Guinness in his hand and his friends were astonished that he was able to get away from his bride for the day and they wanted to know how he was able to pull it off....

I worked in a muscle car repair shop back in 1970. I had a customer offer me a 1963 Corvette split window for $1500, [if memory correct it needed engine work], like a fool I turned it down. That year was my favorite vette and today they are worth a fortune. That was only year of the split window. My boss was one of the founders of the TY RODS hot rod club. All we worked on was GTO's 442's Vette's and anything else that was a hot rod. Loved that job. It was Crosby's Garage, owned by Jack Crosby.

I had an '80 for several years. Didn't drive it all that much because it was my Sunday funday car. That year was right in the peak of the EPA crackdown, so the speedo only went to 85. It was a severely detuned 350ci. Not a lot of oompf but given it was so light and you could outcorner a Cheetah in it, it was a lot of fun.

We do have some pics somewhere of my 1 year old daughter sitting on the top of the T-top frame while I sat in the car and held her. She doesn't remember the car well but she is still drawn to 'vettes to this day.

Back in 2010 or so I needed a couple quarts of GM Autotrack fluid to change the transfer case oil in my pickup and the only place to get some was a Chevy dealer so I found myself at Hendricks Chevrolet in Norcross Ga and they had a beautiful black C6 parked out front and I was giving it the once over when a salesman came over and said, want to take her home? I said sure do then he said let me get the keys and if you have time you can take it for a test drive so being a total gearhead I said heck yeah so I drove my first Vette ever and that thing was one more sweet ride but I don’t think I could ever get used to driving something that low to the ground and I’m a diehard truck guy anyway so when we got back to the dealership he was ready to write me up but I said I needed to think about it and gave him my business card and would call him back knowing that was a total lie because I just wanted to drive one before I died and it was worth it and great fun…….A week went buy and I had forgotten about it but the salesman didn’t and called the house but my wife got the call so when I got home that night she met me at the door saying, have you lost your f’ing mind??? …..She calmed down and put down the knife after I explained the situation but that was a close one!!!

We were bad boys back at Crosby's Garage......us guys in the shop would race the customers cars at lunch time. I remember breaking the floor shifter in the Corvette I was driving during our race. Luckily I had another back in my tool box and got it swapped out before the boss got back from lunch. One time we had a Hemi Cuda and an L88 Corvette [427] there and 2 of the other techs raced them. I didn't get too, boy did they have smiles on their faces when they returned.

In the mid 80's I was service manager at high end import dealer and got to take any car I wanted off the used car lot as my demo. I drove a Maserati Quattroporte GTS, I had to swap it for something different after only a week. It seemed every one that came upon you on the road wanted to race. What did it, was once going home from work I looked at the speedo at was going well over a 100! I knew I would end up without a license if I continued driving it. It was WAAAYYYY to easy to go REALLY FAST.

I bought the Buick GS for my wife. Somewhere around $4000+ new if my memory is correct. It ate gas, tires, and clutches, so I wound up with a racing clutch and my wife was complaining that her left leg was stronger than her right. We kept it ten years and only 33,000 mi but when the rust on the rear quarter panels started to get bad, off she went.

I know I shouldn’t have done this, but I am 83 years old and I was in the McDonald’s drive-through this morning and the young lady behind me leaned on her horn and started mouthing something because I was taking too long to place my order. So when I got to the first window
I paid for her order along with my own. The cashier must have told her what I'd done because as we moved up she leaned out her window and waved to me and mouthed "Thank you.", obviously embarrassed that I had repaid her rudeness with kindness.
When I got to the second window I showed them both receipts and took her food too. Now she has to go back to the end of the queue and start all over again,

Me, too. Youngest of the Baby Boomers. Our radio was tuned to Giants, Raiders, or news, and the big, single-speaker, console stereo record player only knew how to play classical and Christmas carols till we hit adolescence.

I know every generation has to rebel a little bit. BUT... I cannot stand nose rings. Not sure why. Maybe growing up in the country where only boar hogs, and bulls had nose rings.

I don't mind tattoos or piercings just as long as it's not overdone. It's not a big deal to me, but I can see how those who are either very religious or old don't like them. I find that people with tattoos, piercings, and aren't religious to usually be good down to earth people who aren't judgemental and are more accepting.

I just don’t understand why someone would want to endure the amount of pain it would take to get full body tattoos and or piercings all over their body unless you really hate yourself or just absolutely enjoy pain but there was always that kid in 3rd grade that ate glue, drew all over themselves and would punch staples in their face just to show off to the girls so I guess they grew up, got woke and continued on with their weirdness…..Speaking of pain, do you have any idea how much it hurts to pour half a can of Comet in your eyeballs to try and get that image out!!!! What’s frightening to me the most is when I have to go to the pharmacy to get my required prescription to keep me functioning on this earth and the female pharmacy assistant has full tattoos, a nose ring that looks like a bent barbell hanging from her nose, more earrings than you can count, and hold on for this one……………. add some short blue spiked hair that matches her medical scrubs she is wearing.

But to her credit, when she pulled my prescription she caught the fact that they needed to contact the Dr. for a 90 day prescription in order to get the maximum benefit from my insurance. The pharmacist didn’t catch that. So now I’m left still processing that event in my brain. What’s the world coming to?
