I GOT WOOD...on my Ruger MINI 14. Just took off the Hogue stock and went A TEAM Folder. Any suggestions on preservative for the wood. II believe it is walnut.

Interesting rifle. As far as wood protection and preservation, I swear by Ballistol.

I have the same blued version of that rifle, had several different stocks on it. Back to the factory wood for now. It appears to have an oil finish originally so pretty much any oil will work. I use linseed oil a lot or a linseed mixture from Track of the Wolf, think it's called Original Oil finish. It has some driers and other stuff in it but much like linseed oil. As King mentioned Ballistol works fine for preservative and routine cleaning.
I have a plastice bull pup stock also but the trigger is hideous as the linkage is all plastic and flexes way too much. Pretty cool otherwise.

Those Minis are neat little carbines.
Gave my Ranch Rifle to one of my sons years ago.

Ballistol here. Love the Mini 14s. I've used mine for brush deer hunting for years.
