I was going to post this under " happiness is a new gun ", but I'm not happy yet..............Picked up my new to me Beretta APX A1 compact. Looked nice, felt nice. Got it home, there was some quality there, for a plastic fantastic. Simple procedure for breakdown. I start to turn the takedown lever and it comes/pops out. I try to remove the slide but no go. I'm not a gunsmith, but I do understand the workings of a firearm. I ponder for a while. The gun is locked up. I can't get the lever back in. The slide is a bit thinner on the sides than more expensive models, so no prying for me. It has a removeable chassis that I could have removed bv tapping out a pin, but you need the slide off. Back she went the next day. Trying to navigate Beretta's website is challenging to say the least. By this time, I had to take a walk around the yard to cool off for a while..............Did what I should have done in the first place, got on the phone. Only had to wait a few minutes. The woman I spoke to was very nice, attentive, and within 5 minutes, I had my return label. We'll see what she looks like when it comes back, whenever that is. First time in over 50 years of ownership, that I've had an issue with a firearm. Guess I was due..................

I think I’ve sent in five. Three were new with issues. The others were old used guns that Ruger and S&W fixed up for free.
I recently bought a new Kimber Ultra. Found a cross-threaded grip bushing on it. Called in, got an RMA and shipping label sent to me. Dropped it off at UPS on a Friday afternoon, got it back the next Friday morning. Wish it hadn't come to that but at least they stood behind it, in a classy and professional manner.
Only other time was with the second Kahr I bought, back in 2003. They took good care of me too though it took a bit longer since they have to send the gun out to Robar to get it refinished. I'm confident Beretta will take good care of you also.

I'll just say what I've heard many others say, "This s#!t just shouldn't be happening". I can somewhat understand with my price point. If it were a 1911 or some other more expensive firearm, I would be livid. Now the wait.........................

I can tell already that this is not going to be a gun for you. You might want to consider selling it now.

I must be the luckiest guy here.
Never have had to return a modern firearm for repair.

I shot the front dust cover rails off a cw45, but I think they were too short to begin with. Kahr replaced the frame for free.

It sounds like it should be a minor problem that Beretta can easily fix. Hope you get it back soon.
And yeah, it’s not just Kahr. Overall I doubt Kahr’s failure rate is any worse than others.

Arsenal SLR-106U had FTF on JHPs.
Returned and replaced with a much newer and totally reliable firearm.
Ruger LCP FTF on FMJs/JHPs.
Returned and repaired with new barrel and some other parts - runs fine now.
My only Kahr, an MK40 Elite, had an overly extensive break in period.
But I just kept cleaning and shooting until the Uber tight gun loosened up.
Now it will eat anything without issues.
I never sent it back to the mothership.
Just shot the hell out of it - LOL!

Well, the repair facility received my firearm on May 1st, and I got it back today. 26 days isn't bad all things considered. They said that they inspected, cleaned, replaced the cocking lever and test fired. It came back spotless and lubed. They were good about keeping me informed. Beretta is using 6 different places for their repairs besides the Beretta facility. I'll check back after I see how it runs.
