Just for the sake of discussion, compare these two firearms and tell me what you see as significant.

These two firearms are almost Identical in size and weight.

This gun is chambered in 30 Super Carry with 17 rd capacity.
The gun below it is chambered in 9mm with 11 round capacity.

One has an extended magazine and one doesn’t. The 9mm with extended mag is 13+1 capacity so the 30 super carry still has more capacity (16+1) when the mags are comparable.

Otherwise, I don’t see much difference between the firearms.

One uses cheaper and more plentiful ammo.

Capacity-Standard 10,13 vs , 13. 16 Super Carry -Super CarryWinner

Recoil factor 6.16 vs 5.06 Super Carry Super Crarry clear winner.

30 Super offers MORE capacity, LESS recoil.

Defense Factor greater for the 30 Super Carry 83 vs 76%

Over all winner 30 Super Carry.

Really don't care much about capacity when it is talked about in terms of over 11 rounds as I figure if I need more than that I should have brought a friend.
9mm is FAR more plentiful and FAR lest costly. Learn to shoot accurately under stress and most any caliber is sufficient.
In my opinion, the super carry round is preventing us from getting lower costs on more common rounds and slowing the availability of reloading supplies.
My 2¢

The YouTube videos I’ve seen comparing those 2 firearms have all suggested that there’s little to no difference in felt recoil.

Capacity, recoil or felt recoil, defense factor????, ammo availability and cost. Did I forget anything? I’ll stick with 45acp. If one’s concerns are any of the prior, purchase a 22lr or 22 magnum in a hi capacity semi auto. Doesn’t Keltec have a 30 round 22 lr pistol. That would cover all the stated concerns. Maybe Kahr will release a 30 SC, could be the BIG SURPRISE. I don’t know anyone that owns one. Anyone here have one?

My thread is a effort to learn more about the cartridge. I am not into the high capacity crowd, but I can see where this cartridge will have other applications down the road. There is noting wrong with a learning and keeping a open mind. I have not shot the cartridge yet. But from what I have seen so far, IF I were into high capacity, I would choose the Super Carry at this point. Regardless, here is a nice video on this very subject. When the Sig 365 came out you would hear all the internet slang, quoting percentages of how much more, game changer, no brainer etc. Well this is what? 30% more capacity? Lol, sounds like a game changer to me.

It should make a nifty rifle cartridge.

Here is a video with the Mantix X10 recoil meter comparing the 30 super with the 9mm. I have never used the Mantis, but seems interesting.
