Ed and his wife Norma go to the state fair every year, & every year Ed would say: “Norma I'd like to ride in that helicopter."

Norma always replied: "I know Ed, but that helicopter ride is fifty bucks, and fifty bucks is fifty bucks!"

One year Ed & Norma went to the fair, Ed said, "Norma, I'm 75 years old. If I don't ride that helicopter, I might never get another chance."

Norma replied: "Ed, that helicopter ride is fifty bucks, and fifty bucks is fifty bucks".

The pilot overheard the couple and said, "Folks, I'll make you a deal. I'll take the both of you for a ride. If you can stay quiet for the entire ride and don't say a word, I won't charge you a penny! But if you say one word it's fifty dollars."

Ed and Norma agreed and up they went. The pilot did all kinds of fancy maneuvers, but not a word was heard. He did his daredevil tricks over and over again, But still not a word...

When they landed, the pilot turned to Ed and said, "By golly, I did everything I could to get you to yell out, but you didn't. I'm impressed!"

Ed replied, "Well, to tell you the truth I almost said something when Norma fell out, but you know...Fifty bucks is fifty bucks".

I went to the convenience store/gas station to buy lotto tickets for the next big jackpot. You never know; someone's gotta win, and you need a ticket to have a chance. As I got out of my car, I noticed two police officers eyeing a customer smoking while pumping gas and chatting away on his iPhone. They were having coffee, but their attention was on this guy.
Sure enough, a second later, the guy's arm is on fire. He was running and screaming and waving his arms frantically, very close to other customers also getting gas. The officers jumped into action. One tackled the guy and rolled him around on the ground. The other threw his coffee at the burning arm, and somehow, between the two, they put the fire out.
Jeez, I said to myself, that would have been really bad! But it seems they had it under control, so I went in and got what I needed. On my way out, I saw the guy they rescued in handcuffs sitting in the back of the SUV police unit. I'm sure they had him for reckless endangerment for his actions.
Seeing this made me extremely curious, so I asked the officers;
Why are you arresting him? For stupidity?
The cop looked me dead in my eyes and said:
FOR WAVING A FIREARM!

Still waiting for the Kahr double stack, same thing happened to Glock, when people were asking for a single stack and the Kahr was the answer. Now the tide has turned. Everyone else has micro double stack and Kahr is behind the curbe. Still like my Kahrs, but I also got me a Glock 43X. Same size as P9 and double the capacity with the shield magazines. Talking about innovation.

That’s pretty funny…..On the serious side though I have quite a few DeWalt 20v battery tools and a bunch of extra batteries so I told my kids I wanted a new DeWalt 850 Atomic 1/4 inch impact driver for Father’s Day so they got me one from Amazon for less than $100.00 tool only, no battery but since I already have a bunch of spares it was fine and let me tell you that little tool is a beast for such a small light weight driver, it just won’t quit and with a 3/8 socket adapter you can drive large deck lag screws into solid wood like butter……Very impressed and if you don’t have a similar tool, whatever brand you will find all kinds of uses for one so try one out………I do wish the batteries would interchange between brands but that’s where they stick you, the tool is inexpensive but the battery costs almost as much as the tool……..

The batteries for my Makita drill both died. Makitas are not made in Japan any more. I bought two off-brand replacement batteries with more milliamp hours. No idea how long they’ll last.

I used to be the same way, every time I grabbed a cordless tool it was dead. Now that I'm out using them pretty much daily I prefer them. I have a fairly full complement of Porter Cable cordless tools and a few extra batteries. So nice not to have to run a cord out for one simple cut etc. Plus I can drill, countersink and drive a screw without changing a bit.
The biggest plus is no cords strung out I have to roll over in this contraption I use for getting around. I even ran the air hose overhead to run the nailers, staples and stuff.
Wish they would have had the tools they have now back when I was building. I used to say I could rule the world with a cordless sawzall and a sack full of blades, now days I think I could rule the world with a great big track hoe, times change.

Once again it's time for my July 10 day fishing and shooting holiday starting Saturday. The resorts new owner is kind of a techy so they got pretty decent wifi now days. Hardly know I'm gone cept I probably don't check in quite as often during the day.

The high light of this years hopefully multiple range visits is I plan to shoot an old Springfield Trapdoor given to me a couple years back. I had to track down a few parts to make it right. Never really intended to shoot it till I happened to look at the bore and found it near perfect even after years of neglect, sitting in a couple garages unloved. Have some safe trapdoor loads to shoot so hopefully me and it will survive intact.

When I was 8 or 9 years old I lived with my grandmother and she was still working but we didn’t have much and many nights we had a supper of what she called corn meal mush which was filling and not too bad but it was cornmeal, milk, bacon drippings, salt and a little flower cooked up in a skillet and we ate it and survived somehow…….Mama Ruth thought me how to make cornbread and I can still make a good cake of pone and I still appreciate cornbread and pinto beans as a fine meal but the best is a hunk of cornbread in a big glass of buttermilk with a shake of salt eaten with a spoon………I now know we were somewhat poor but I had a bicycle and a baseball glove and I could ride to the park and play ball with my friends then at night I could listen with my transistor radio to the Braves game hoping ole Hank would whack one out of the park again…….Yes we were poor but if I could I’d do it all over again I would because those were really good times…….

Spam was a lot better back in the day than it is now. I don't know what the meat quality was back then, but I tried some recently for giggles. Fried it up. I couldn't eat it. Neither could wifey. Tasted like animal and smelled like wet dog.

PS, that Bull whose name is Bodacious, was finally banned due to the amount of injuries to riders. Which by the way, they refused to ride. He was not only a massive bull with great athletic skills He was also unique in that he had a maneuver that would send the face of the Rider smashing into his back. A top champion was almost killed.(Tough Hederman champion Bull Rider)

Had a pretty bleak childhood myself. But like you I had the things that it took to also make it amazing. 'Ceptin I was listening to the Sox and waitin for Yaz to park one.

Spam was a lot better back in the day than it is now. I don't know what the meat quality was back then, but I tried some recently for giggles. Fried it up. I couldn't eat it. Neither could wifey. Tasted like animal and smelled like wet dog.

Question is: were you as hungry recently as you were back in the day? Makes a big difference :)

I bought a Vaquero in .44 Magnum just to see what all the fuss was about. Recoil is stout, but didn’t seem that big a deal. My wallet hurt more than my hand, that ammo is expensive.

I have not shot a 44.mag in so long that I forget what the recoil is. I posted about my Blackhawk shooting 357 the other day and it was Mild shooting. the large gun had no issue with handling. I would like to shoot the 44.mag in one in the near future. Maybe I can rent one. I also ordered some 357 Buffalo Outdoors men to check it out. The chart gives a idea of the recoil of 357 vs 44. We shall see. Maybe the large guns have no problem with 44 mag. That said, I will not shoot 357 out of a LCR. Done that.

They are not full house nuclear loads.
But still have some punch to them :)

Remington Golden Saber 357 mag is a nice medium velocity load too...

A few years ago I rented a Smith and Wesson snubby air weight in 357. Had to buy the range ammunition so I went with 357 mag. Cylinder and a half and I called uncle. Traded them back for a full size stainless 6”. Fast forward to the next morning. After taking a shower I grab the squeegee, reaching cross body and pulling across my body on the shower wall, it felt as though someone took a red hot rod and shoved it in at my right wrist all the way up to my shoulder. The pain took my breath away. My now LCR9 is stout but manageable.

A few years ago, I had my LCR 9mm sent in to Ruger for some Cosmetic issue. Got into a conversation with one of the Techs and he asked me what ammo I used for training. I told him Fiocchi and he said t"hat is What we use to test guns".
I buy almost solely from TargetSports. I don't believe I have seen it for awhile. I had no issue shooting Fiocchi in my 380's other than the RED BOX LINEAR. It was some cheap crap that I do not see any more.

In a word, no. Beyond that, I believe the left is saying that it is non-inclusive, inciteful, and contains "hate-speech". But they're saying nothing about all the hate being displayed and acted out in the video shown of riots and supposedly peaceful protests. I hope things don't get too much worse before sanity prevails and they start getting better. For my kids' sake.

Amen, I really don’t understand why we need such…..At work the bathroom stall door latch is held on with some kind of tamper proof screws unlike any of the above, must of had a real problem in the past with dudes stealing stall door latches and selling them on eBay…….:crazy:

I'm so depressed, last night I watched a show on Animal Planet about coyotes and they said an average coyote can run about 20mph and an average Roadrunner can only run 12mph so this means my entire childhood was a lie! For God's sake what's next, Rabbits and Pigs can't really talk.......
