All my life since a young kid, I have been fascinated with the Whitetail deer. Just beautiful creatures. Not living in the County like so many fortunate folks, I like to turn on the YOUTUBE in Georgia and watch the interactions, the changes of season etc of this herd. For over a month I have watched this poor soul get by with a injured leg. Every day, I keep hoping she is able to walk on it. Not sure she will make it through the winter. But she is tough and doing a great job of raising her twins. May God go with her.

I am guessing she received a puncture and got infected or caught in a fence etc.

I hate seeing any animal injured. We have plenty of deer here and I see injured ones frequently. Automobiles, fences, and coyotes are their enemies. Especially when they have their fawns. They are safer when there are more rabbits around. Hope she makes it.

Sometime in the 1990s we were driving through a nice lakeside neighborhood that had an extensive Whitetail deer population and saw one grazing with an arrow sticking out of her shoulder.
I believe it was trapped later so a vet could treat it.

The Whitetails in my suburban neighborhood have thinned out a lot over the decades, so we rarely see one now.
Plenty of coyotes & foxes though.

Just a update for those interested. She has come along way and just a touch of a limp left. Her two fawns are healthy and growing. Spots are almost gone. She has no problem running. And from watching her behavior interacting with other members of the herd, I can see she is a "Dominant" female. I am guess my prayers paid off. You can see her at the 11:28 mark

She may have not made it in my neck of the woods with an injury. Too many predators. Now it's bow season...................

Tough doe.
Hope she lives to her natural age.
