Started a new thread to update on my new P322.

Took it to the range today. 235 rounds including CCI Mini Mags, CCI Velocitor, and Federal Champion. The P322 is apparently susceptible to leading so all of the ammo was copper plated.

First let me say I love shooting the 22. I’ve never had big strong hands and as I’m aging 9mm in a small pistol starts to hurt after 50 rounds.

I put 235 rounds through it today. The P322 is accurate and fun to shoot.

I did have some malfunctions. There was one light strike. That round fired when I recycled it so I’m chalking it up to the ammo.

I had feed failures with all three types of ammo. 4 in total. 2 were on the last round in a magazine and one was odd in that the round was sticking nose up out of the ejection port. The magazines are notoriously finicky about how they are loaded so it’s probably the magazines. I’ll be even more careful about loading them next time to see if I can eliminate the problem.

My buddy brought his TX22 with factory installed red dot. I think he fired about 200 rounds. He had a couple of malfunctions (one fail to feed and one fail to extract) and eventually the red dot came loose. Overall he was happy with how it fired.

Looks like fun! I've been wondering how my hands will be in 20-30 years, and which centerfire caliber (if any) I'll be able to stand. Hopefully I will a.) still be around to find out and b.) find that I can still shoot any caliber I like. But I plan on shooting lots of .22LR.

Looks like you have a great 22.cal. I have tying to find different sizes. If, I am not mistaken that is close to the M18 in size. Which is what I am interested in.

And a shout out to you guys who love the bigger calibers:

The guy in the lane next to me was shooting a 45. Now I’m not the sharpest knife in the drawer but I get basic math - .45 is about twice the size of .22 but those 45 caliber holes in his target were enormous!

Had a new one come into our range. Feeding troubles with Remington, (surprise), everything else ran fine. Nice looking gun.

There isn’t much of a feed ramp but do you guys think I should polish it or just run another 250 rounds through it first?

Personally, when shooting 22.cal semi's, I just keep a large cotton Que Tip with me and periodically wipe the feed ramp. It does not hurt when shooting a lot of ammo, say every 100 rds, to just do a quick simple break down and just wipe off the crap with a rag. Just takes a about a minute.

I purchase RAMRODZ in different calibers. Use one just for 22. Some of that ammo is more dirty than other's and with this can clean the Breech which most people seen to forget about. It is designed for specific calibers. A very strong well made cotton. And you can quickly run through the barrel.

I bring a bore brush to the range when I shoot my .22 SP101. The charge holes get cruddy enough to make rounds stick, after only 3 or so cylinders of shooting. I drag it though the barrel every once in a while too just in case it's filling up with lead.

Thanks for the tip, I will definitely do that.

I’m still thinking the issue is magazine related. The problem is so common that Sig put out a video on how to load the mags. They need to look like the mags I’ve loaded in the picture below. The rounds all need to be angled up but even when I follow the video instructions some of the rounds end up horizontal and that causes them to jam on the feed ramp. If after I load the mag I use a small flat head screwdriver to press down on the back of each round they angle up properly. I’ll try this at my next range outing. The mag thing is really a fail on Sig’s part, they shouldn’t be so difficult to load properly.

On another note, the trigger is meh. Not bad but not great. I like the flat face (it also comes with a curved trigger) but it’s a bit mushy.

The sights are good - fiber optic and easy to see.

That is common with a number of 22.cal mags. Actually those look like nice one's as the Pull down tab looks thick. The secret is to put in a few rounds and then release the spring and allow to spring the rounds up right. So do this about every three or 4 rounds. JMO

Ps Personally, I do not load to full capacity.
