I’ve had a Ruger 10/22 Takedown that I bought not long after they started making them. The factory sights were sad to say the least and couldn’t be adjusted enough to correct the elevation. It shot 3 inches high at 25 yards with CCI standard velocity and worse than that with Mini mags. Never could get a scope I liked set up on it and that kinda defeated the purpose of the takedown anyway. It sat in the safe for a long time until recently when I ran across “Tech Sights” for a 10/22 that had good reviews, and a good price.

So, I ordered a set and got them installed. They seemed pretty nice and are made from aluminum. Took it to the range today and got them zeroed with less than 15 rounds shooting 3 shot groups. Now I can shoot 1 inch groups or better at 25 yards with irons, which is good for my old eyes and shaking hands. It has a second aperture that flips up that I’m thinking will work at 50 yards (the apertures are supposed to be for 50 and 100 yards but I can’t see that good at 100 any more.

I would recommend them if someone needs a sight upgrade. They look like the picture below:

Very interesting.
I might consider those for my old 1977 standard 10/22.
Also have been thinking about a takedown with threaded muzzle.

Those look great! I put a heavy barrel on mine but might ponder those for the standard barrel. Always looking for old 10/22 wood stocks to doll up.

I put the TECH SIGHTS on my Mini 14. I like them a lot.

They make an adapter for .920 dia. barrels: https://www.tech-sights.com/product/920-barrel-dovetail-adaptor/
I've seen photos of them on some Project Appleseed builds:

I think the Tech Sight setup is good to go, but one of my 10-22s is scoped and the other has a Williams peep sight on it. I like both the way they are:)

Wonder how that adaptor is attached? I can't find any pictures of it from the back.

Found a review that said it just required loctite. So just a forced fit. Fella said it has worked well for several years and didn't move. Might be cool.

That's how .22 barrel liners are done now.

My 10/22 has Tech Sites, they’re all it’ll ever need. Unless my eyesight really turns to crap.

Believe I might have to give them a try. Looked them up and the price seems pretty good to me.

Ditto for me AJ. They look good. Trying to use restraint but I know I won't hold out for long.

Hold out didn't last long, just ordered my set of Tech Sights with the 920 adaptor. There goes this months allowance.

Tell yourself what I do, it’s not money spent, it’s an investment. Not that telling myself that works all the time, but gotta try something.

What really gets me is when I order a case of ammo this week, and next week the price drops $20. :(

I been tempted by the ammo case thing for quite a spell. I'm still waiting for it to get down but I fear it has to be close to bottoming out. Like gas, get folks used to a ridiculous price per gallon and then lower it till it's still 8 times what it should be and people think they are getting a great deal. Conspiracy, I tell ya.

No kidding.
This ain’t any bargain if you look at the price per round….. over 51 cents/round, almost double what it was prior to the pandemic.

I got my Tech Sights yesterday. Installed last night while the wife was watching Golden Bachelor. Never cared for it myself. Takes too long. I always said just line em up in tight T shirts and have a hose handy. Wet em down and make your pick.

Anyhow I digress.

The Tech sights were a piece of cake to install. I also had to have the 920 barrel adaptor. I was slightly concerned about the loose fit and using Threadlocker to hold it but it seems to work.
The requisite evidence photos.

I dug out my grandsons 50th anniversary edition and it has a version of those sights built into the pic rail. His gun is scoped for a pic covers them but her eis a stock photo.

Colonel, you’ll be making hundred yard bullseyes in no time! I was able to make a few last time out, just the tech sights any my bare eyeballs. Took a while to dial in my eyes and brain, then it was fairly easy. But I think the BX trigger helped a lot, too.

Looks good Colonel. Pushed my eyes to the limit using mine on Tuesday. On about 1 of 3 shots I can hit a 2 inch metal target at 50 yards. It was a struggle. Couldn’t hardly focus that far. 25 yards is easy. I like ‘em.

I got a dose of Bidenomics while looking at new tires for my truck…..Back in 2019 I bought 4 Bridgestone Dueler A/T REVO 3 tires for $169.00 a tire which I thought at the time was crazy high but four years later that same tire now sells for $319.00 so that means every 4 years products we must have almost double in price while my union job gives us 1 1/2 percent pay raises every year, that’s Bidenonics right there which he has the gall to brag about how great the economy is doing………..

Bought new truck tires this spring and I can say I feel your pain. Cost me $1100 installed for Goodyear wranglers A/T that were $775 installed 5 years ago. Burns me up.

Just ordered the sight for my 10/22. I have a stainless barrel on mine so the contrast with the sights should look just fine. Just need to find someone a sight pusher I can borrow, or buy one, or find a gunsmith somewhat local to me once they show up.

My 10/22 front sight tapped right out easy as pie. The new one locks in with set screws so I didn’t need to even tap it in. It slid right in place and I just tightened it up.

Same with mine. I'd put it in a vise and try to tap it out. Like yqtszhj (say that 10 times fast) said the new one is all set screw. Loosen the screw put it where you want and tighten the screw. So easy, even a bawanna can do it.
Mine was a 920 barrel and didn't have a front sight, so I used the adaptor but the front sight is the same.

I'll have to give it a try myself then. Thanks for the info!
