My transmission has a twist knob. If you shut off the engine without putting it in park it will automatically go to park position. Can also shift manually with paddles on the steering wheel column.

Hey Colonel. In doing miter cuts how many times have you put an inside measurement mark on the outside of the wood and then cut it way too short? I’ll admit I have done it quite a few times but I think the advantage of getting older and thus slower has caused me to make fewer mistakes because now I have to think harder. I don’t think I have got better but I think my problem when I was younger was that I would get in way too much of a rush.

More times than I could count. My favorite thing was cutting a piece of sheet rock perfectly, only to find out I got it upside down. I was usually the cut man and not hearing well I was always cutting stuff 10'' too short. Never too long so I could cut again.
Still make silly mistakes all the time, just doesn't bother me as much I guess.

They had the idea to tape a 3 foot rubber snake to the inside of the toiled lid in the master bath toilet so that it danced when the lid was lifted, thinking that I would be the first one in there, lift the lid, and get scared. Well, the wife was the first one in. All of a sudden I heard a blood curdling scream. I went running in to see what was going on and the wife was shaking and in tears, pointing to the toilet. I looked and saw what they had done, and about that same time the kids eased into the bathroom to see what was up. My daughter why was in elementary said it wasn’t her fault, it was the middle school son’s fault. My son said I was supposed to be the one who got scared. Wife still gets mad when it’s brought up.

Their jokes that were supposed to be played on me always seemed to get the wife. The one where they rigged the kitchen sink to spray me got the wife also.

They all made it, but the 4 foot 11 inch wife did grab the two 5 foot 10 inch boys on more than one occasion by the shirt collar and push them up against the wall and threaten them. She may have pointed a kitchen knife at them a time or two. The boys have said when I got mad I yelled but they weren’t scared, but they said they were scared of their mom when she got mad.

Now, the youngest kid was a girl, and the interaction between her and her mom was bad at times. She wasn’t scared of me either but when the wife got mad at her I would leave the room. All girls should be sent to a military school at about 9 years old. They have this thing called hormones that just throw a house into confusion.

Fortunately the wife doesn’t get mad at me. She will just call me “ego man” or a donkeys ass and then just ignore me for a few hours.

We had one of those Joro spiders build a web right outside our kitchen window and I started to knock it down but decided to just let her finish the web and watch what happened……..We noticed a much smaller Joro spider in her web which we assumed was the male and he was there for about a week but gone now, I figure after he performed his duty he became lunch……Another female Joro tried to build a nest too close to her nest and lost two front legs in the property dispute…….I’m starting to look at my wife differently all of the sudden……..:behindsofa:

Heh. I think you're both correct. It's just that dads move from primary to secondary fallout zone and husbands step in to permanently occupy the primary (Severe Damage) zone.
It can get MUCH better: I've got a prominent 1" long white scar straight across my bicep from a long ago vacation trip when my oldest daughter refused to get out of bed. Lots of drama from the get-go with this one, but it really took off during adolescence - even 5150'd her at one point. Now she's a 22-year old married Marine vet employed in SoCal hi-tech mfg information systems, bought a house, considering whether to earn a 2nd stem undergrad or shift to masters. Apparently, that fiery stew of hormones, properly directed, can be rocket fuel.

One of my Indian contractors was very bright but a bit of a bumpkin from a small village. He went through the lengthy (& comically entertaining) processes of procuring his driver's license then purchasing a used sub-compact.
Shortly thereafter, he entered the lab one morning asking, "Where can I get my car aligned?".
I was puzzled, because he'd put the car through the inspection wringer prior to buying it, so asked why he needed an alignment.
His answer (dead serious): "It won't park straight between the lines."
