While I know the Ruger fans will flock to this because of its future rarity; My question is why was it not chambered in .22 K-Hornet? A much easier
ctg to use in a revolver and it has lower pressures. Best thing is you can fire a stock Hornet in a K chamber and it will fire form nicely...

Sounds like a really cool gun. And I am sure the gun is worth the price. Unfortunately I'm not.
It is very interesting, thank for posting K7.

MSRP: $1499.00

Not familiar with the cartridge (but learning). Did read this.

"he K-Hornet is strictly a handloader’s cartridge, as not even boutique brands offer loaded rounds, with only R.C.C. offering handloading brass (that I am aware of) but at about $4.50 a pop"

King Rat,
I am a big fan of the K-Hornet, yes it a handloaders only ctg. but the benefits far outweigh the disadvantages, imho. Back in the 90's when Ruger came out with the 77/22H I had a bunch of guys come in and ask to get their chamber opened up to K-Hornet specs. It is a simple reaming job but on some of the 77/22H's needed the bolt to be shimmed to maintain proper headspace. The K-hornet offers as better shaped ctg that has the ability to hold more powder and produce better ballistics. The neck gets blown out during fireforming and trimming brass with the K is a breeze as it rarely needs it. I will include a link that I found interesting.

For me I would go with the 5.7 caliber so that I could get ammo without having to reload. There are plenty of guns out there now in 5.7
Similar ballistics between them. Just what one needs....more calibers to stock ammo for.:boink::smash:

Buy all the basic caliber ammo while we still can because the time is rapidly coming when we can’t……..

Sounds like a solution in search of a problem that doesn't exist.

I don't understand the Marketing side of this. The amount of owners that it would appeal to has to be a minuscule amount compared to the sales they will get.

I agree. I imagine they won't make a whole lot of them to kind of test the waters. Already making redhawks so a few changes to be made. I don't know why in a Redhawk, big ole frame for not a very large caliber. Can't be much recoil even in a light gun.
What am I missing.

I think it's ugly anyway. I like revolvers, just not that one.

Pretty much same with me. I love Ruger revolvers and have several, just never cared much for the Redhawk. Just doesn't sing to me.

The "six series" will always be my favorite Ruger revolvers. They needed two designs to replace them, the GP and the SP series.
I own two Speed Sixes 2.75" models, still looking for the elusive 3" model.
There around 150-200 2.75" models for every 3.0 inch model. The 3 inchers were government orders for postal inspectors and game wardens. Ruger beat the S&W Model 13 (FBI issue) 3.0" model for the contract.
The FBI had determined that 3" was the ideal minimum barrel length, so Ruger made a special run, just to meet the spec.
