Secure It Pistol Box Lock Re-Keyed

Buying 1 pistol box at a time ends up with multiple keys. What have you done to have a box re-keyed to match the other?

Great question! I am in the market for 3 boxes...one for each of my vehicles and one next to my bed. I am guessing that one option would be to take the 3 new boxes to a locksmith and have them rekeyed to match. Another option will be to check with the manufacturer to see if I can order all three boxes to be keyed the same OR what they suggest. Thanks.

I looked for one of these as well, turns out I found one of the Secure It safes (with a combination) and a local gun show for a good price. With the combo models you can set all them the same. But you can get them keyed the same if you order direct from the manufacturer. Here are the links for the brands I found.

I considered the combo lock with my first one I put on the floor next to my bed. I decided on the key lock so I would have the key on my only key ring, Unlock it at night, but could not forget to lock it the next morning because my car key is on the ring also.

PS: I called a key shop and they want $15 to rekey 1 box. So, be sure to order them keyed alike from the start.

I emailed GunVault to see if the Nano gunsafe could be keyed alike from the factory and they advised me that they do not provide this service. Perhaps Secure It will but I found the Nano200 for under $17 on amazon.com and ordered 3 - one for each vehicle and one for the Bedroom and RV. After reading reviews and getting input from others, I am fairly confident that this product will serve the intended purpose well. I agree with oldlincoln about having the keyed unit next to the bed, rather than the combo unit and also liked his suggestion about leaving it on the car key ring. Good feedback.
