I disassembled to install new sights from Kahr...which are fantastic! Went to reassemble and the slide stops about 3/16 inch before it reaches the end of the frame. As I continue to push the slide rearward, I can feel it bind even further, so I backout the slide and try again; same result.
I check recoil spring & guide rod - nothing there and its assembled correctly. I even moved around the guide rod on the barrel lug slightly and try to assembled at least 8 times just to be sure the guide rod flange wasn't interfering with anything. The slide continues to bind as I push it rearward on the frame and I'm not close enough to aligning the slide stop holes. I did a fairly exhaustive search on this site and others, but nothing similar. Have not had this problem in the past. Might be time to call the service department. Any suggestions before I do? Thanks

Did you only do a field strip to take it down, or did you gut the slide?
Have you tried holding the trigger back while you install the slide?

Check the frame where the guide rod sits. I've had trouble in the past where this area was chaffed by the guide rod and prevented assembly. I can't remember exactly how far the slide was on before it bound up, but its worth a look.

I want to watch Vance talk tonight but something looks different on the right side of your frame compared to mine. Like the right channel is dug out and that circular piece of metal looks like it is being hit in the front. I will take a picture of mine tomorrow. Dan

I don't know but something just looks different. Dan

Field strip just to install the sights. Ya, I tried the trigger a thousand different ways. It gets to a certain point on the frame and wont go any further. To get it off I depress the trigger just right and it will slide off.

I'll check that, thanks

Yes, it does. Those pictures look just like mine. I guess that is not it. Dan

I have had instances where the top of the trigger bar's half moon shape you see ended up inside the slide's rails rather than underneath them as it should be. If it gets wedged in there like that the slide won't go back far enough for that piece to pop into place in the recessed area on the right side of the slide, at the rear.

Try pushing down on the ejector just a bit, it doesn't really move much but sometimes just enough. Otherwise what Dao said above. I'm still thinking. Seems I did this before and the ejector trick did it for me.

Thanks Bawanna. Sorry for the late reply; I didnt have my thread notification on.
My ejector doesn't budge, even slightly. Welp, back to the mothership it goes.

Thanks for all the replies, it needs some factory TLC. I will post the results when I get them.

UPDATE: Send my P380 back to Kahr and they turned it around in 3 weeks.
"Action Taken: Fitted extractor channel. Fitted polymer frame rails. Able to disassemble and reassemble firearm without issue. Replaced inner and outer recoil springs. Function check, passed. Test fired 2 full mags."
Haven't been to the range yet, but I'm happy with the turnaround time and level of work done.

Sounds like maybe the frame rails weren't set properly? I didn't know they could move those once they were embedded. Perhaps they filed one or both down a bit?

First time I've even seen mention of a (edit: not striker) extractor channel needing work. But I'm glad they took care of you and I would expect it will run fine at the range now. Thanks for the update!
