I’m in central North Carolina and we were unaffected by Helene but lots of folks around here have family and friends in the western part of the state.

I live near hickory nc. Fortunately for me just a lot of small branches on the ground and only lost power for about 24 hours. Internet for about 3 and a half days. Unfortunately for a lot of other people around here a lot of b ig trees down and houses heavily damaged. Roads closed off and many went without power for days. A little north of us up in the mountains was a whole different story. Major flooding " google boone, chimney rock, and asheville" just to get an idea. Last thursday i went up to boone as a volunteer with samaritans purse to help out with the recovery. I cant believe the damage i saw up there. So far 113 deaths in nc. Its going to take years to get things back to normal. One thing i will say is the way people around here are helping out is amazing. People pitching in and donating either supplies and/or their time.

Tampa bay here. I wasn’t too worried about Helene and it spanked our area pretty good, flooded my office and in-law’s house. I’m actually kind of worried about this next one.
