T9, Mag Base Modification

I've done the "add slim stainless base & lock + o-ring" mag base modification to my Kahr K9 mags, but I found on the T9 there wasn't as much need to do so. Instead, I just ran the front of the plastic mag base over an orbital sander and changed its shape a bit, removing the front lip.

Image below shows the T9 with the mod'd base, and the inset shows the change versus a stock Kahr mag.

"Kinda quiet" here on this forum (and most others) lately -- I had to add something... ;)

I like it, I might be a copycat and do that to mine as well. Don't carry my T much but thinking about doing so of late. Kind of change things up some.
It has been damn quiet around here, I'm at a loss on how to liven things up (alot). It's a sad day when I log in and no new post.

I haven't felt a need to mess with the plastic base plates. My hand doesn't reach that far down to be bothered by the lip. But the flush metal base plates solve all that, and look cool, so I have a couple of those. If MagGuts ever makes new spring kits I'll buy a few so all my T9 mags hold 9 rounds. They don't make one specifically for the 8-round mag, but the 7-round guts work just fine in these mags.

Good point, thanks. I do like and use the flush metal ones on my K9 mags. I reduced and rounded off the tip for the T9 mags not because of my hand's position, but so it's far less likely to catch on a jacket or vest, whatever my cover garment is at the time. That was the idea, anyway.

I did, thanks -- looks even better at the actual size, as you can see an overrun line when it's blown up BIG. :eek:
