I just bought my first Kahr handgun. It is a P45. I like the way it feels and looks but it has issues. I have owned several handguns over the years and never had one do this before consistently. I loaded 6 new factory 230gr FMJ rounds into the magazine and got 4 light primer strikes on my first time out with this gun. I am normally shooting Glocks, Walthers, or S&Ws and was really disappointed in this P45's performance. Has anyone else had this issue? If so, how did you correct it?

Hi Wayne and welcome to Kahrtalk, sorry you’re having an issue……Is this a brand new pistol? If so you may need to give the striker channel a good cleaning with some non chlorinated brake cleaner or Gun Scrubber in the little hole in the under side of the slide, just stick the red tube that comes with the can in the hole and spray away……New Kahr pistols have a lot of gunk left over from the factory and need a real good clean out before shooting the first time…….If this is a used pistol the striker spring may need replacement and there’s lots of good information on the site on how to do it, not hard but pictures help the first time…….If you don’t want to work on it yourself just call Kahr and they will send you what you need to ship it back to the mothership and they will fix it, Kahr has very good customer service and will make it right……Again welcome, there are really nice folks here that will be happy to help you out with any future questions you may have…..Good luck to you!

In addition to what GetSome said, make sure the gun is in battery. If its out a little, it will cause the light strikes. Do the "drop test", remove your barrel and drop a round or 2 into the chamber. Do they drop in easily and fully? If I remember correctly the chamber can be a little snug on these 45s.
If four out of six struck light then you've got something going on, and the likely candidate is one of the things mentioned by getsome and topgun. Welcome to the forum, and let us know, we all learn from each other!
