Aloha folks, new to the forum, have a PM9 on it's way this week! :D
While I chose the PM9 because I plan to start carrying, it's also going to be my HD gun in the bedside table. As such, I'm planning on adding an 8 rd magazine w/ the grip extension (K920G).
Has anyone used that mag in the PM9? I know it's "compatible", but I also know the grip extension isn't really going to line up with the frame and there will be a pretty big gap. Just wondering what that feels like to shoot.
Also, I've seen a little about the A&G grip extensions, but not much. I can't find a website for them, only their VERY BRIEF listings on amazon and such. I've seen a few threads about them, but it seems like they only replace the OEM grip, they don't make anything to fit an 8 rounder to the PM9. Anybody seen anything like that, for sale or fashioned by an individual owner?
Thanks in advance!

I was wondering the very same thing about the extra large capacity mags for the PM40. I agree, it seems like they extend out too far for the grip extension to work properly and was wondering about its application too. I tried to bring this up in another thread, but no response. Thanks for asking again.

That I know of they don't make an extension long enough to cover that gap. You're going to end up with about a bullet's diameter worth of gap between the grip and the top of the extension.

I have used the larger, 8 rd K9 mags (I have a K9) in my PM9 during training exercises without a problem so far. It doesnt feel weird at all to me, since I am well used to a pinky rest on my PM and am also well used to no-pinky-support as well (my usual pocket carry mode).
Most guys (not the enlightened ones, like us) bring hi-cap Glocks and XDs and so on to training, so a larger cap mag is desirable in these circumstances in order to "keep up" during some of the drills.
I think that you can count on them to perform for your bedside application. You might also consider having two extra mags in a mag holder with an attached neck-string also available bedside, like Clint Smith recommends.
I do.

Interesting... I like the idea, but with the price of all the toys I'm acquiring these days, for now I might have to stick the 7 & 6 round mags I already have in the neck holder at night. If I can't take care of business with 22 rounds, well I probably shouldn't have stolen that drug dealer's Mercedes in the first place.
Speaking of which... does anyone have a favorite source for these goodies? Kahr wants $44 for the K920G.

The A&G Grip Extension is for the 7rd mag not the 8. It leaves a little gap on the 7rd, but is an improvement. I got a pair of them for my 7rd mags. Here (http://kahrtalk.com/30310-post8.html) is what they look like on the 7rd mag so add about 1/2 inch for the 8rd.

You bring up a good point! You can find most A&G products at Top Gun Supply. I have to say that the grip extender for the 7 round mag is not the prettiest looking thing. In fact, it's kinda cheap looking and a little disappointing. I think there would be a huge demand for high cap mags for the PM9, and definitely for a good grip extender for the 8 round mag. It might look just a little alkwardly long, but I think for someone with big hands, it might be just perfect. Plus, it's a lot more confidence inspiring to have a good 8+1 at your bedside table that you know you can get a full grip on when you wake up groggy in the middle of the night. Hopefully there's a product out there somewhere...or one soon to come!

A quick Google and here's Buds at $29.48

Here's just one link:

I buy quite a bit at Cheaper Than Dirt, but their current price is $32.08. Shipping is reasonable there. Some places charge$8 to $10 or more for shipping. You have to consider that and tax or no tax, too. I still look around for the best deal, including shipping.
