I might possibly send the kahr in for light striker problems, and I read a thread about someone having an issue and they replaced his barrel and test fired it. He got it back and apparently it was worse...

So this got me curious. I doubt kahr is willing to spend a box of ammo for each broken pistol. So how many is test fired? A bullet? 2? A mag? Box of 50?

I was thinking about sending a whole box of 100 rounds and say if you test fire, please don't use 6 rounds to verify tinworks, but use the whole box. There is no reason a pistol shouldn't fire 100 consecutive rounds...

I think kahr has a very poor function check process after they 'fix' a pistol (at least dorm the reviews I've been reading)

I suggest three things;
First, make sure your lightstrikes aren't ammo related. Verify they happen on multiple brands.
Second, measure the striker pin's protrusion.
Third, measure the depth of the chamber. Then check with Kahr CS to see if these measurements are acceptable. If the gun isn't working, one of them should be off.

All three variables, primers, how far the pin protrudes from the breech face and how deep the case seats in the chamber can affect reliability. If all three are within design specs, then the gun should work reliably. I doubt Kahr will shoot a large amount of ammo through your pistol.

Hi guys. New guy here (not new to kahrs but only just decided to jump into the fold) but figured I may help. I would definitely recommend changing ammo types first. 9/10 its ammo related.

is the gun going *bang*? Or is the dent just not that deep?

Hornaday and I think Speer gold dots have harder primers, and the strike dent is not that deep but the gun still should go *bang*.

If you are having failure to fire then that is a problem.

Hi all,

I to had KHAR work on my pistol (CW9) and they test fired it. So I asked how many rounds were fired and what brand. This is the responds I got back. Hope this helps.

We test fire with Federal American Eagle 124gr FMJ and Winchester Super Unleaded 147gr FMJ rounds. We test fire a minimum of four magazines through each firearm. I hope I have answered your question and if you have any others please do not hesitate to email or call again.
sincerely,

I asked the same thing today, and they told me they use Remington UMC JHP and sometimes the WWB flat nose. he didn't say how many rounds though...I suppose each caliber uses diff brands (I was asking for the P380)

anyways, I was very lucky and found 2 boxes of Remi UMC JHP at a walmart today, so I'm going to shoot it tomorrow, we'll see what happens.

I'm going to keep a stiff wrist, and hopefully that helps with my limp wristing problem. I usually keep a relax wrist, so this will take some time to get used to

For what it's worth, people I try to help shooting especially woman I tell them to picture the target as something they don't like much or even genuinely hate. Get a little mad dog mean and shoot like you mean it.
Not a death grip on the gun but a focused, locked arm and all business approach for lack of a better description.
I hope it runs for ya and we hear a good range report.
