I made this for another K40 owner. I really like how the mag pouch turned out. Now I'm going to have to make a setup like this for myself, too.
He wanted:
- chocolate leather with black kydex
- fully finished edges
- stitched construction (rather than rivets)
- tuckable with j-hooks and standard hooks
- full sweat shield
- matching mag pouch

Please tell me where to get the j- hooks. I also dabble in leather.

I like that full sweat shield. I am always sweating all over the grip when IWB. That looks like a good solution.

I'll have to wait until the owner gets it and takes some pics. I already shipped it off to him.

I make them myself. You can buy premade j-hooks from most of the holster makers, but their prices are pretty high for what you get.

The full sweat shield also protects your side from getting chewed up if you have checkered wood grips like I do. I made both of my IWB holsters with the full sweat shiled and I like it a lot better than the "combat cut" (like anyone is wearing a IWB holster in combat). It's comfortable and prtoects tha gun from the sweat generated by a hot Texas summer.

Very smart! Looks like you used plumbing strapping ; now that I look at them closer. They are as slick as your holster. It is good to see someone with common sense nowdays.

Thanks for the compliments. No plumbing strapping; I made the clips from flat Kydex. I cut them to width, punched the holes, beveled the edges, then heat formed the bends to fit a 1.5" belt.

Does the full sweat shield affect your draw? Does it interfere getting a grip?

No, it doesn't interfere at all.

Here's a post from fecnik, who I made the holster for. He posted some pics of the holster in use:

After talking about kahrs for a while to Mr. Warhammer, i stumbled onto his holster threads. Admiring his work, I asked if he would make me a holster and a mag holder....

The result...

My first impression when I got the holster was pure astonishment on the quality. He wasn't kidding when said he puts every attention to detail. It was flawless. The edges are smooth, the stitching is perfect and the gun fits perfectly! It has an easy draw..not too much tension but enough so the gun wont fall out. I can honestly say that I prefer this holster over the supertuck...anyday.

He provided me with the "J" style clips and the clips that wrap around the belt. I plan on getting one made for my 1911...bye bye supertuck.

Vs supertuck

If you are local (DFW), he will probably make one for you. He just needs your gun to make the kydex mold. Again, I highly recommend one of his holsters!
