Wish I had known this before....
You know how you can't just push in the slide stop on 1911's? Well, this mod by Log Man on the 1911 Forum.com changes everything. I did it to Dad's Colt today and it really works.
Basically you file a notch allowing the plunger pin to ride up onto the slide stop. I found the pics hard to orient but if you remove the slide and look down on the slide stop as it butts against the plunger pin you will do a forehead slap for not thinking of it yourself.
