For those who don't own a PM9 and would like an idea of the size I took some photos of the PM9 along side my LCP as well as my M&P .40 Compact and my Para CCW in .45 acp.

Since Kahr recomends a 200 rd. minimum to break in the PM9 before CCing it I took Fri. afternoon off work and went to the range. I took 100 rds. of cheap Wolf 9mm and 100 rds. of some Winchester white box range ammo to get the job done right away.
During the break in I had 1 fail to feed and that was on the Wolfe brand. I took the final 13 rds. of the Winchester and 2 fresh targets to see how accurate the little gun might be. One was at 5 yards and the other at 7 yards. I was standing shooting 2 handed with no support.
5 yards:

7 yards:

You notice the round in the 9 ring in the 5 yard target and the lower left corner of the 7 yard target. That's the shooters fault not the gun. I yanked on the trigger on the first round of each mag. Once I get use to the dual action trigger I hope to prevent this from happening again.
Over all I really like how compact the PM9 is. Accuracy was better than I expected on the first trip out with a new gun. The craftmanship is superb which one one expect on a gun of this price.
Bottom line is, if you are looking for something small enough to pocket carry and prefer something with a little more power than the .380s that are out there, you might want to take a closer look at the Kahr PM9.

Thanks, but the line up has changed as of last night. The LCP has flown the coop. It's been traded for a Rock Island 1911 .45 Compact. Now the only pocket pistol I have is the PM9 but I'm not complaining.

Another well done, I'd leave the coup door open to let the LCP escape too especially if a Rock flew in and replaced it.
Guess I'm guilty of not being a real LCP fan. I love ruger revolvers but never gelled with the autos.
Lets see some pics of the Rock when ya get the chance. We know the technology is there.

looks it with the tapered front slide. other than that no changes made to the PM9, some call it a new model but it is a cosmetic change only. Nice gun, u should love it..
I guess I have to re-correct myself, The above PM9 with the tapered front part of the slide is not just cosmetic, That Fooker is actually longer by nearly 1/4" than my 4 year old pM9. Now I ask. Why did kahr do such a thing. They made the damn compact pocket gun now even bigger, not only will it require a new longer slide but a new longer barrel by what ever difference, plus longer recoil spring and I would guess longer recoil rod over the probably hundred thousand PM9's in the older version.... but yet still smaller than the CW slide and barrel. It just makes no sense to me and personaly I did like the tapered front portion of the slide but I would not want it over my PM9 slide that is on my gun now which is maybe 1/16" longer than the end of the dust cover of the grip.
Wow talk about confusing. Kahr needs to have in their parts catalog a serial number that tells one what kind of slide he has so he can know what to order, But again, the lower portion looks the same as my PM9, so does that mean if my slide goes bad that I am going to get this new longer tapered slide?
This does not make ol jocko happy at all. Why mess with what has been working so good for so long . Please don't tell me it extended the sight radius, this ain't no target gun but a close up personal defense gun and I don't think that extra 1/4" in length is going to tighten up most shooters groups either, but sure will mess up in ordering some of these custom leather hoslters, I would think...

There is a new slide and and old slide version of the PM9. I am not so certain that there is a new-new slide version. If it has the dimple, it is a new slide. If not, it is the old. I thought that this change took place some time ago. As of yet, AFAIK, Kahr has not acknowledged any October 2010 change. The OP's pics look very similar to the Kahrs that have been produced since early 2009, and perhaps earlier.

I thought the dimple was for the old style sights versus the new style sights but could very easily also refer to other stuff as well.
I think your right about the change, there was only one like you say in early 2009. Just my guess anyhow.
I think they do this so about the time we think we got things figured out we got more stuff to figure out. Don't want idle minds I guess.

If that photo by just one shot is a PM9 then that is a new slide no doubt, Just look at the front of the slide and see how it extends and then go to the kahr webb site and hit on their PM9 and it is the shorter squared nose slide like my PM9 I have had for 4 years.
My question to kahr, with yet no answer is , is the new slide now going to be the only slide available on the new PM9's today and if so why is the webb site still showing the older style and not one word of this new style.
The dimple as u stated bawanna has zero to do with the slides, it only has to do with the sight cuts being different and this has been years ago to. There are no more old style without dimple on them in production today.
What I think is happening here if that photo is a PM9 is that kahr is just slipping this new slide change in on us without saying jack sh-t either. I personaly am not happy about it, as I have asked why the change and also got so far no answer. It will really confuse things , I think..

So in a nutshell your saying that this might possibly be the 4th time in nearly 4000 post that I was right about something? Crap thats 1 per 1000.

That is hilarious. Kahr hasn't updated their pics since 2007, apparently. I had never noticed that my PM9 did not look like the ones on the official site.
From the pics, it looks there are actually 3 styles of slides on the various models - round corners, short bevel and long bevel. Or are my eyes playing tricks on me?
My recent (2-3 months) pm9 has the longer bevel.

though we are only talking about two distinct length of slides. The bevels are what I would say is cosmetic but no doubt we are looking at two different length sides and their webb site should not be out of date as they are showing the Bl;ack rose edition which is relatively a new model dressed version of the old style PM9, not the new beveled longer slide version. I am really at a loss to say what the fook is going on even.
Ur recent version tha tyou own is ceertainly not shown on the kahr webb site, is it????:target:

I'd guess you have the newest style slide. They have been beveling the CW's for awhile now and before they beveled the PM9's. They don't seem to have as long a bevel either, that might be the third version your thinking of. Some prefer the looks of the CW for that reason also. Seems like it would be a good thing to help reholstering, more rounded, rather than square peg in rounded hole?
Might be part of Kahrs reason for doing so also although they didn't ask me so I can't take an ounce of credit for that one.

Dang it you are the wise one, you've got me for lack of evidence or providence. I knew I should have made copies or had tattoo's applied as reminders. I guess my new school specializing in covering ones backside is gonna be a total lost cause.
As often as I'm right I don't often forget those moments.
So we're back to 1 in nearly 4000. Well that's kinda smart right?

If anyone wants some more pics of "new slide" pm9s

Kahr PM9 9mm Black Stainless NEW No CC FEES : Semi-auto at GunBroker.com (http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=196381264)
I emailed Kahr and they said that the modifications will NOT affect holster function, but i don't know if i believe them.

For what it's worth, the new PM9 I got this week has the beveled front on the slide also. Makes it look streamlined. Kinda cool says I.

Nice! I'd take that over an LCP any day of the week. Thats officer size barrel length with officer size frame or full size like a commander?
I'm visualizing some pretty bawanna grips in my small mind.

It's the compact with the 3 1/2" barrel.
