I got a pair of these for my P380. However, I did not like the "hook" at the tip. To me it's not really needed, I just wanted extra "purchase" area for my pinky. Since I pocket carry, those tips kind of poke out and cause more printing worries. So I shaved the tips off, while still keeping all the functionality.

Basically used a hand held hacksaw to cut most of it off. Then used a whittling knife to clean up the edges and make adjustments. Then some various grades of diamond file cards to polish it off. Did both of them, but took this pic midway to show the difference. Left them on the mags for handling, so be sure and clean them out after if you do the same.

Good plan. The big ole hook dont need to be there. Did you run into any voids or hollow spots. A little acraglas could fill those up. Gives you what you want without so much bulk.
Nicely done.

not a bad idea, I had one on my PM9, gave it to my cousin because I couldn't use it without running into printing issues. Might have to get it back from him.

Can you post some more pics of different angles? Looks like I might do this as well.

A few more pics would be helpful and seing whether or not that part of the grip is hollow. A Dremel tool would do a good job of finishing the job. Good idea. That is the reason I have not bought a pair for the p380.

I'll post more pics. The extension isn't solid in the area I cut, it's more a wrap around U-shape to save plastic/weight. All you do is cut off the extension. Very simple. Does nothing to compromise structural integrity or anything. No-brainer. Did not run into any voids, etc. in the areas cut. I didn't polish it back to mirror finish, just smoothed it out and fine contoured so there are no edges to catch when drawing.

A dremel can be used to both cut off the initial bit, sand and polish, but experience is you need to be careful as it can catch and end up gouging stuff. Also when cutting, it generates a lot of heat which can actually melt the plastic and cause more swarf that needs hand cutting/filing anyway.

OK, here are some pics from various angles. You can see it's not a professional job! Probably need a few more sanding/polishing sessions. Looks rougher than it feels with these macro flash shots! But hey, no one should really be seeing the bottom of my mags, they'll be dodging bullets!

Aww, makes sense now, I wasn't grasping the C concept. Thats real good. I'd be taking a big flat file to that bad boy, flatten it up and even things out. Love the concept. Good idea you thunk up.:cheer2:

Thanks for the pics!

Now we just need to make sure you're extensions are causing your mag issues...
