a poster on another Kahr forum stated he bought a new P380 and he noticed the side plate seemed bigger and was now held in place by two screws. Has anyone seen this???:7:

Thanks! I guess it's the lighting, but the slide looks like it's somewhere between DLC and matte stainless? My old LCD has a narrow viewing range vertically... the pink becomes white as I rise. :D

It would seem like they could use a Blind Nut Insert
"A blind nut insert, also known as a rivet nut, is a one-piece internally threaded and counterbored tubular rivet that can be anchored entirely from one side." (This and the Picture below are from monsterfastener.com: http://monsterfastener.com/products.aspx?idx1=Fasteners&idx2=Nuts )
This would be a lot sturdier than the anchored-in-plastic deal they have now.

totally agree wyn, expecially in the slide lock lever spring area. It definitely needs to have a screw that threads into a metal insert of some sort. although this area is not an area of any real issues either, it just makes sense that that little ass screw in the plate area and slide spring area going into polymer threads will not be a very solid hook up, IMO.
