Well, I guess you could say there's a silver lining in the dark cloud that is Harry Reid not being thrown out of the Senate... we could have wound up with Chuck Schumer from NY... a flaming, rabid, anti-gun fanatic... as Senate Majority Leader. At least Reid is "A-rated" by the NRA. You have to really look for the "silver" sometimes. :D

a fantastic election. I could not have asked for more. Screw harry Reid, He is toast now to. Now we can sit back and see two more years of grid lock. Indiana kicked ass to,...

damn I just love it... Any thought of Obama doing any crap with the gun industry is also toast. It will never be brought up by any demo's either.. and here I went out over a year ago and bought allthe 9mm I could find thinking he and Michelle was going to be knocking on my door and wanting my guns... Ij'm tired Wyn, I wa sup allnight watching Fox and the reports, still watching um now even, only sitting in bed drinking a "cold" one...

I'm pleased with the way it turned out. If the Republicans had won the senate, Obama could play the martyr - just me against the evil republican congress. He definitely doesn't have the finesse that Clinton had in 1994, and will be a one term president. Now we have deadlock and he is effectively neutered for the next two years. I doubt that he will take credit for getting the Dems kicked out of the house, governorships and state houses, but it was his policies that did it.

Lets all join crossed fingers and hope the still alive senate race here in washington allows Dino to come from very slightly behind and win against worry Murray. Life will be good here then too.
Over all I'm very happy. Too bad we gotta wait 2 years to move forward but at least maybe we won't continue backwards as fast as we are now.
At least Polassi can head for obscurity and now ruin my supper seein her mug during my evening repast. Now that's a good thing.

Fingers & toes crossed!

I want to retire in either Sequim or Port Townsend and have a vested interest in the outcome as well.

Good Luck!

Both those towns are really nice. Real decent weather in Sequim, they don't get nearly the rain and snow that we get on this side of the strait. Port Townsend I think is a bit more damp and more of a fishing waterfront type place but loaded with history.
Both a world apart from anyplace I've ever seen in Missouri. But a guy could be happy in either of those places.

I agree that it was a great election for the most part. Would have liked to have seen B.Frank and H. Reid both put out. But maybe they can be held down now.
I think Zorn is right on with his thoughts about not letting up on those guys in office. If we don't keep them in line we'll still have a bunch of spending and laws we don't need. just my .02 cents worth:o

While generally happy with election results, I'm not satisfied. Tuesday was like an appetizer for the main course coming in Nov. 2012. We need to watch these new repubs and hold their feet to the fire when necessary. If they don't behave then they need to get voted out in 2012 just like the current POTUS should be. I'm watching with pad and pencil, ready to take down names and deeds. :7:

How about this Imperial Presidential Delegation boondoggle to Mumbai, India, coming up... reportedly 3,000 people, 40 aircraft and 34 warships with expenses totaling over $200 million a day!!!!! WTF!!! These people have no concept of economy with the PEOPLE's money!

But I did stay up last night, all night, watching ted nugent pro RKBA, 2nd amendment, hillary bashing rock n roll videos. He's 60 now right?

Stop the madness. Ted Nugent for president! GO UNCLE TED!

Just because republicans were winners don't think we're out of the woods yet. Both parties have repeatedly screwed us. Now is the time that we have to continue to be vocal about what we want to happen. If we don't, the money from the banks and corporations will just continue to buy our elected officials votes, and thanks to the idiots on the supreme court they can do so completely annonymously.
Now is not the time to back down.

I agree that we should be just as critical of the Republicans as the Dems, and perhaps even more. However, I hope that they learned their lesson and will put the brakes on spending and taxing. We know the Democratic agenda, and there is no hope there, but now is not the time to let down our guard. None of this will happen overnight nor can it, but the trends should be closely watched.

O'Dell, ur dead right, we should be very critical of both parties. Only plus for where we are at now is that this gun b.s. is dead in the water. It just ain't gonna happen, It also will never even be brought up for any discussion either..

Politicians = Keepin your Arms handy incase they become boneheads. Which inconsequentially is a 9/10 chance.

Odin, I'd go higher than that with the odds of ******* politicians. I also agree that these new guys need to be watched with a microscope. We'll see how long it takes for this new bunch to try to bend us over some more.

Im about tired of bending over for the rich-in-office. I have and will NEVER trust politicians. Im still with Ted Nugent on this completely. What the heck is wrong with people today? have they forgotten how to reason? use logic? think? IMHO everything is starting to become bassackwards in this country.

But I dont know nothin'. I'm just a dumb almost 23 y/o hillbilly thats been off to the war and has too many guns and too much beer. Its a shame that when I got home from the army (Family not included) the only people to thank me for fighting in the war are people on the internet. If only people understood how much i went through and sacrificed and how hard it is on my conscience. But my opinion bears little weight to the rich in office.

Hooah.

Since the republicans didn't take the senate, I'm glad the Reid won his seat back, or else we'd have gun grabber Charles Schumer in charge of the Senate, I have nightmares just thinking about that one. I also agree with RHolmes69 that I hope they don't try using the lame duck session to pass more Obama socialist crap. Oh please don't let Pelosi become minority leader, I don't think I can take any more of her foolishness.

I don't think much will happen between now and January. These guys know why a lot of their fellow Dems were sent packing, and since they are 'professional politicians', they will probably want to run for office again. After all, a lot of them can't do anything else. They won't want to make waves, and hinder a future campaign.

As far as Pelosi is concerned, let them put her in as minority leader. She's a known irritant, and won't make them many friends.

Oddly enough, since so many 'blue dogs' got the boot, the makeup of the Democrats in the new House will be even more liberal. Since this is still a center-right country, that doesn't bode well for the Dems for the next two years.
