Hello everyone. I bought my first handgun a little while ago. Going to be carrying it 24/7.

I was browsing the local gun store's inventory when I happened upon the CW9. I was fresh from firing a few different guns. Baby Glocks, Springfields. I liked the little Kahr and asked to see it. It fit well in my hand. I decided to do some research on it, as the guns I had fired just didn't thrill me.

I was looking for a gun that was $500, small enough and light enough to hide all day, powerful enough to protect me. One that I could shoot. Eventually I decided I needed a 45. It came down to the Taurus Millenium Pro 145 and the Kahr CW45. Both are reliable guns. The Taurus is a quarter inch wider. Two ounces heavier. But it holds 10 rounds vs 6. That would normally be the decisive factor for me. But I decided I needed something else in my gun.

Welcome to the asylum. I would head over to the tech section and peruse the lube chart and jocko's proper prep stickies. Most of the inmates here have the bug as well, some of us are more the gun whore than the gun snob. Either way works well, we'll not discourage you from more. Finally shoot that thing a bunch, shoot it more, rinse and repeat. You'll like it here.

I think you made the right choice in picking the CW45. I had a pro145, gave me nothing but headaches. Traded it for a g36. Kahr makes a really good gun. Good luck and happy shooting.:33:

And the American made part does not go unoticed. An excellent consideration and what not applied nearly enough in recent times.

Welcome.

Lurked for a while, replied for a while before introducing myself. Seems like a down to earth kind of place. I guess when you have a forum devoted to a very practical product you get practical people.

And how do the G36 and the Cw45 compare for you?

Thanks for the welcome. I have my Ithaca for inside my home. I carry my Kahr with me everywhere I go. Now I want that new fangled Kel-Tec bullpup .308 to round it out. In my life I've owned a Ford, a Pontiac, a Chevy, and a Dodge (and all V8's at that). I want to keep going down this road if I can. Kel Tec is American-made isn't it? From what I hear you can't even trust Springfield anymore.
