new blems going up as we speak.

got a question for you guys though, how hard do you think it'd be to take a supertuck designed for a P/CW...etc. and shorten it to fit a PM?

Two words to answer that: Not very. There are a couple of ways to do that, hair dryer and razor should be the easiest. Just be careful not to keep the heat in one place for very long.

Are you talking about "shortening" the leather or the Kydex?

well, depends on how short it ends up being. It's listed as a shorty so maybe I won't have to mess with the kydex, but I'll probably end up trimming some leather.

The leather trims a little differently. Water and a very sharp (razor blades if you can find a handle work well) blade, or I've been using some sheet metal sheers, and some sandpaper and razor blade to burnish the edges. Kydex, the sheet metal sheers and above mentioned ways work well.

A bandsaw cuts kydex like butter too. I've cut down many Blackhawk Serpas for G21's to fit G30's. Chase it with a bit of sandpaper or scrape with a blade and your good to go.

bawanna, wish I had a bandsaw, many of my projects would be much easier. I guess a dremel and a razor will be my best friends on this one.

A hacksaw or a coping saw is just like a bandsaw powered by your arm. There's always more than one way to pry the tusk out of an elephant.
I suspect a cutoff wheel on a dremel tool would get it too but probably more burn it's way than cut. Might leave a cleaner cut even.

I use a pair of Cutco kitchen shears to cut the leather on my CrossBreeds. I've done several combat cuts that way. No need to get the leather wet. Just cut it to the shape you want and buff the edges with some 200 grit sandpaper to smooth them out.

well, got my supertucks in today (one for a Kahr and one for my 1911). Turns out being a shorty I don't need to mess with it, the kydex is the exact length of the PM slide, I can see where somebody had what I'm guessing was a CW in it from the impressions in the leather. May end up combat cutting it in the future though, we'll see.

Those blems are in very good shape, if anyone is wondering. I have used them for many years now, as Mark and I are good friends. The blems are purely minor, cosmetic issues. Who ever sees your holster but you, right?

Also on the length issue, remember the Supertuck is an open-nose design. So unless a pistol is a lot longer, they will typically fit. I am not sure if the shorter grip of say a PM versus a P would make much difference on how it rested against or cleared the backer. I can sure find out if anyone wants to know. The shop is just a few blocks from my office. ;)

well john I can partially answer that for you. I'm going to have to trim some of the leather off the top because there's enough that it flops over top of the back of the slide and that curve makes re-holstering a little tough. No big problem though. I might throw a pic up later. I will say though, the blems are only very slightly used, the most wear I've seen was you could see the indention of the slide in the leather. And the one I just got for my 1911 was completely unused, no idea why it was on the blem list.

I did run into a problem that the ejection port indention didn't fit my PM9, don't know if the .40S&W ejection ports are a little bigger and it was formed to one of those, but a little time with a hair dryer last night fixed that.

That flap of leather is there intentionally, Pender1. It keeps the back end of the slide from digging into your side. I have CrossBreed holsters for several of my pistols and like them a lot.

I know it's there on purpose, there was just entirely too much of it. There was enough leather that I could fold it over and touch the other side of the slide with it, a little too much for me. I trimmed it so there's about a 1/4 of an inch behind it now. Just enough to keep the pistol from touching me above it.
