I bought a new PM40 in February of 04. All the paperwork that came with it indicated it had a Lifetime Warranty. One of the reasons I bought it.

I'm aware that Kahr "modified" their warranty later to 5 years.

Recently, I had an issue with my PM40 and called Kahr. They indicated that it was "out of warranty" since I bought it in 2004. Only 5 year warranty. I told them that I have fired less than 1000 rounds in it and all the paperwork that came with the firearm indicated that it had a lifetime warranty. The service guy said it must have been old paperwork that was with the gun. Wouldn't even check the serial number to verify it's warranty status.

Does anyone know the serial number range of the "Lifetime" warranty guns?

Thanks,
Buck

A Google search got this from Wikipedia:
"Since late 2003, or very early in 2004 Kahr has changed from offering a Limited Lifetime Warranty on their pistols to one of only five years' duration. [8] [9] In 2003 the New York Daily News reported that the Kahr K9 was popular as a back-up weapon with New York City police officers, who called it the "Moonie gun".[10]"

This is a reason I prefer to use email... there's a record and you can't just be brushed off as easily as a phone call.

Send an email explaining that you bought the gun based on the lifetime warranty and tell where that's explained in your documentation. Include pictures of your problem if that might help. If you insist, they might cover it... or should.

u bought it in 04 and have the paper work, kahr must honor it. If that guy that you talked to says no then ask for the director of CS and run it by him. If the gun was bought in good faith due to the lifetime warranty, then they can't go back on that era of guns and say it is now out of warranty.

That is pure unadltrated B.S. cal um again and ask for eion, he is supposed to be head of customer service to

Thanks for the support. I believe I will first email them with my information, due to the previous post, written document is much better than phone conversation.

Thank again.

I would be persistent. You may find others there that use the logic "how do we know this paper came with your gun and not another similar PM40" if it doesn't have serial number on it
