Hey guys I just picked up My new CW9. I really like the fit and finish.

I took the gun apart and cleaned it and lubed it. Then did some dry firing with snap caps.

The trigger felt kinda gritty so I decided to take the slide apart and clean the striker and channel. It was clean but I noticed some machine marks in the striker channel.

Anyone ever try polishing the channel?

I attached a picture...hopfully I did it correctly my first time attaching pics.

For now I am putting he gun back together so I can shoot it some.

From what I can see in the picture I would call it a non issue, it looks fine. I also don't think any roughness there would contribute to a gritty trigger. I suspect that shooting it and perhaps more dry fire practice will improve the gritty feel. A drop or two of oil from the top down on the trigger spring and pin area may help also.

These things just seem to get better and better with range time and use.

Welcome aboard also, glad ya found us.

considering you have not even shot it, yet give the gun a couple hundred rounds down range and I bet that gritty feel will dissappear. That channel is ok but certainly a polish job never hurt anything either. Keep the striker channed clean and dry, no lube.
a tad bit of grease on the cocking cam will also help alot to.

Nice gun, now just get out and shoot it like u stole it..

did you first clean it with gun scrubber? I used 1/2 a can when I first got it. I have put 207 through it and the trigger is getting smoother with time. I also racked the slide 500 time before it ever was shot. good luck with it I love mine.

The trigger on my P380 also felt gritty. Take off the slide and look down at the trigger bar. There is a little spring that has to slide along the trigger bar as you pull the trigger. I found mine was not sliding smoothly. I carefully polished the area on the trigger bar where the spring slides and put some TW25 grease on that section. It is now smooth as silk. Dan

Shoot it like everyone says and do the break in procedure which is located in the tech section and you should be golden.

YouTube - Kahr Action Job (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1cDRE0mYdY)

That should help out as well. When I had my Kahr, I kept the striker assembly and channel lightly lubricated, it did help with the trigger pull a fair amount. I also constantly found brass flakes in there from the cartrdige cases, and if I went too long between cleanings, that would contribute to a gritty trigger pull. The tool marks had no real effect on the trigger pull, due to the length of the striker assembly and the centering action of the spacer there isn't too much for the striker to catch up onto bad enough to notice on a trigger.

If you want to clean it out, there's a small hole on the underside of the slide near the striker channel that you can put the flexible tip from a can of brake cleaner into, and that will flush out a lot of crud. Work the striker back and forth when you do this.
