Head and body targets from today's range session with K9 and P45. These shots were taken alternating from 30 to 45 feet moving side to side as if seeking shelter in a home defense scenario taking cover. ( head is actually the bottom one) Would shoot 3 then move and reaquire target quickly in new location. So not as accurate as just standing still and firing but still in the body area. So when you are at outdoor range alone what types of practice type routine or drills does anyone here do to keep things interesting that may be helpful in real life?

that sure is good shooting.

Those are 12" targets from 10-15 yards. I would shoot, move 10 feet, find target again then 3 more shots, drop magazine in grass for quick reload. There's probably 100 in the targets but at least 50 in the cardboard if we are being realistic. But any suggestions people have for stuff to practice that you don't think about all the time are welcome. Being alone outside at range makes for best experience. Nobody there to see when you miss and shoot the wooden stakes in half.

I sometimes shoot from slightly-waist-high, two-handed and one-handed, at a large target just two or three yards off. I've been told that if one were checking out his house for an intruder, he shouldn't be carrying the gun around corners with the arm fully extended, because the gun in that position would be easier to be taken away.

Or get shot in the arm too. I was trying to teach my wife the concept of firing 5 shots 2 handed then final 2 one handed while reaching for mag. That part didn't go over well. Thanks for the suggestion.
