Discovered this via Gabe Suarez's site One Source Tactical.

If you are looking for the minimum holster, perhaps a Zaccheaus (ZACK) from Dale Fricke Holsters (dale.frickeholsters.com) is one of the two absolute minimum holsters I have found. If you have a Glock, you can use any supplier. If you have a Kahr, Fricke is the only supplier I know of at this time for this concept holster.

The Zack is listed as an expert's holster. Here's the warning from the link below.

"But be advised, the Zack is an expert's holster and not for someone who might be fumble-fingered, or whose trigger finger tends to fidget with the trigger. Dale Fricke holsters and Suarez International specifically disclaims any liability at all for improper actions with this holster by end-users."

The other similar design is strictly for Glocks but is called the MIC (Minimum Inside Carry) sold by Glock Tech.

A couple of videos to demonstrate the holster design are:

and updated usage

I have three Zacks from Mr. Fricke for my Kahr PM9, Glock27, and H&K USP compact. I followed the advice in the video and store my handguns in a safe with the Zack installed. If you like appendix carry, this is worth a look.

The price is around $14.50 from Mr. Fricke direct any model gun. Glock folks the MIC is around $19 up to just short of $30 for the carbon fiber variations via Glock Tech or $11.19 from One Source Tactical (on sale currently).

Fricke's website is Dale Fricke Holsters (http://dalefrickeholsters.com/index.htm). He does not show the Zack but if you hit contact and request info he has the Zack in stock. Have bought a few holsters from him and produces a very nice product.

Safety note: as always, holster fitting and draw practice should be done with a gun that has be confirmed safe.

Im interested in the ZACK for my PM9 with a Crimson Trace, but I cant seem to find the listing for the ZACK on the Fricke website. Think it will work work with the CT?

I would suggest you call Mr. Fricke and just ask. He does not list the Zack on his website but made three for me (Kahr, Glock, H&K).

My PM9 is almost perfect with a Zack. No increase in gun size and like the appendix carry (tucked or untucked). The only thing showing is a black nylon lanyard on a black belt. Tuck it behind the buckle area and it's tough to see.

Thanks, will do! I was thinking of using it for a slightly different purpose, and just throwing it around my neck under a jacket when in a vehicle, or when Im just walking from house to car in the morning before work.

Oh no no, I carry on the hip everyday, but I also leave my house in the morning, get right in the car and drive to work, where I have to then keep my gun in a car lockbox. But Im thinking instead of putting on a holster every morning for only the ride to work then taking it off, it will be much more convient to just throw the gun around my neck for the short period of time. Atleast its on my person, instead of under my seat sliding around, you kno?

One thing that really stood out in the videos is that it's impossible to get an ND if the "MIC/ZACK" is in place. This leads to interesting uses.

Storage - No cable, trigger, or other locks that take and extend time to remove. If you use a safe, keeping a gun with a round chambered, no possibility of a trigger snag.

Ability to chamber a round or safe a gun without the possibility access to the trigger.

One guy keeps a gun by the bed and has the lanyard looped around a bed post. He like keeping the gun near but while transitioning from sleep to awake wants to avoid the boom.

Using one for neck carriage probably would not be comfortable on a single lanyard. I have used a hair dryer to tighter the Zack's grip on the trigger guard. It will hold the gun from dropping if you lose your grip while removing from the waistband (see video above).

Perhaps the only downside I have found is the audible pop removing the Zack from the gun. Seems to be getting lower in amplitude as I use it more.
