pm9 magazine?

I ordered a PM9 6-round magazine (M620) Mk9 from Discount Hunting Supplies, Shooting Supplies, Ammunition - Able Ammo (http://www.ableammo.com/)

when i arrived it had a different marking on it, it said " Kahr 9-6"
instead of " Kahr mk9" on the bottom (which was the one i got in the box from factory when i purchased gun)

i assume the 9-6 would mean 9mm-6 rounds? doe anybody know if this is an older magazine?

i noticed when i inserted it in, and pushed the mag release, the mag did not drop free to the floor at all. ) compared to the one from in the box, that one drops free out of mag well.

also i notice the one from able ammo inserts easily into magwell, verses the one that came with the gun is more tight while inserting.

well the new one from able has not been broken into, no rounds put through , is that why it wont drop free yet?

A lot of mags don't drop free from the PM9. There are threads about it with some polishing their mags, some sanding and/or polishing the mag rails inside the mag well, and some tweaking the mag release or mag lips. But most just slide the mag out. It depends on how far it drops and what it is hanging on.

First release it by holding the mag release ALL the way in. Does it drop just the same, further, or? This can identify a mag draging on the mag release.

Next feel the mag for roughness. It slides down the rails so needs to be smooth at least where the rails touch. If rough polish that area,

Then compare the mag lips with the original. They should align the same. Some mag lips drag on the mag release.

Then polish the mag rails with a bit of gun grease, the kind that doesn't remain sticky. Remove the slide and tackle the well from both ends.

Let us know if this helps. If not search on "Mag won't drop" or similar.

I am wondering if the mag is even made by Kahr. I don't have any or have seen any marked that way. Give Kahr a call and ask.

I'm not looking at one now, but I recall Kahr mags are stamped with the Kahr Logo, somewhere.
