Just sent my PM9 back to kahr to have some burs filed off the polymer frame and because my two mags weren't dropping when I press the mag release. It's only been a day and I'm missing my trusty Kahr. Can anyone tell me from experience how long Kahr takes for warranty service?

I don't have personal experience on Kahr service times but everything I see and hear says it's not very long. Most cases a few days. Of course it's the holidays now. Hang in there. Maybe you should shop for a back-up Kahr to hold you over? :D

The 3 times I had to send mine back it was returned in 3-4 days not counting weekend. I thought it was pretty fast. Sent a ppk back for a safety recall and S&W had it for 90 days.

Like Dusty said the holidays might slow things some. My complete rebuild MK9 that lived on the bottom of the ocean for 45 days was back shiney and new in about 10 days. My K40 that had a peening issue was longer, they got me and my dept mixed up, kind of lost it and were waiting for a black slide. When they found it and explained what the holdup was I told them to put a stainless slide on which they had and I got it the very next day.

I think they try hard to please, it surely don't always happen but they try.

That's good news! I'm glad nobody has chimed in with a horror story of months waiting!

It'll be a week tomorrow & no word yet. Anybody have an idea of who I should call/follow up with for status?

so.... you shipped it on Tuesday 12/07/10, and you wonder why you do not have it back already? Overnight shipping would have put it at the mothership on Wednesday, and if you were real lucky, at the earliest, it might see the smith's bench the next day. Then it could be ready for return shipment on Friday.....ooopppssss....UPS ain't gonna deliver on Saturday or Sunday....

If it were me, I would not expectthe above scenerio, as I'm pretty sure Kahr has the same workload as most hardware manufacturer's service department. Give 'em til the end of the coming week before you call.

This sounds like reason enough to get that PM45 you've been wanting. :D

Keep the pressure on Dusty, don't give him any slack or he might spit the hook. PM45's rock!

I have heard their response is pretty quick. A week or so? I think there was an earlier thread on this forum to that effect. Could be wrong though. I have not had to send my PM9 in but have have sent guns to other gun companies. Yikes! I have waited as long as 3 months! I do not think You have to worry about that with Kahr however.... Just my 2 cents.

I sent my gun in last Tuesday so it's been a full week. That's to have polymer burs rubbed off in a few spots as well as for an extended magazine that doesn't drop when I hit the mag release. Since so many people are reporting quick turnarounds, I think I'll give Kahr a call in the morning to get an ETA.
