View Full Version : Do all MK9's have the Elite trigger
Hi. First post and just got an MK9 in trade. Serial # GC26xx. I've only shot it once and really like it so far.
The trigger is smooth and the reset is very long. I read that the Elite trigger is slightly shorter than the regular trigger. I called Kahr to inquire about getting an Elite trigger in my MK9. They told me that all MK9's already have the Elite trigger.
Is that the case? It seems like my trigger is longer than the 3/8" the the Elite is spec'ed for.
Thanks!

wel lit isn't, u have the elite trigger. only the K9 model has theNYPD trigger.
what that tells me is what I have said many times before. The average person cannot tell if he has the3/8 or 1/2" trigger in their kahrs. People make to much to do about the NYPD trigger. It is a good trigger system. Most K9 shooters don't even know what they have in their guns and it is still kahrs #1 all steel version selling gun..

Welcome to the forums!:)
I'd believe what Kahr CS says in regards to all MK9s having the Elite trigger. I've read that all Kahrs but the NYPD spec. K9 have the Elite trigger. I'm guessing that Kahr measures the pull distance from the point that the trigger slack is taken up to where the striker releases.
Regards,
Greg
Oops, I see jocko has posted the info about the Elite trigger being on all models and such as I was typing.

gb6491, great mnds seem to run the same track!!!!!
I haven't a clue as to how they measure their trigger distance but I never disputed their demensions as they designed it. I wold have to agree with your assumption. Once the striker releases we are just talking about trigger over play.
Thanks for the info gents.
