My PM9, 2006 production, has a plastic mag catch. It appears to have a small steel insert where the catch retains the magazine. Is this the newest version, or did Kahr go to an all-steel catch for the PM9 in more recent production?

I can't swear on a stack of bibles but I believe they have gone to an all steel now. An email or phone call should give us the straight skinny on that.
I believe several here have swapped out the plastic for steel.

ok to swear on a stack of Bibles bawanna, for your right this time. They are all steel catches. I would guess it has been well over a year + that they went to all steel mag catchs. Certainly though there are thousands of polymer catchs still workingperfect out there today though. i never had one issue with the polymer catchs, for if one examined them, it was not polymer making contact withthe metal magazine but a metal inser tin the polymer that wasmaking contact with the metal magazine. My guess it was more espensive to work that metal insert into the polymer catch molding process.
The metal mag catch today is an MIM part, and hav enoever hear of one breaking but a few as u know have bene alitte out of spec but a call to kahr willge tyou a replacement pronto.
If you want ot swear on a bunch of korans, that is OK to. I am told they are very popular in the kentucky and tennesse hills where out houses are still the dominate shi--er and being we have no sears and roe buck catalogs like we used to have years ago. the Koran took it place.Course you all know I am referring to reading material while in the sh-tter:banplease::banplease:

Is it easy to swap the mag release? I looked online, but haven't found any info on how to do it.
