Kahr sent me a new mag catch for my P9 today, but there are no instructions on how to remove and install the new one. Can anyone help?

Hey, welcome to the forums:)
I wrote a little bit about how to do it here (towards the bottom): http://kahrtalk.com/15667-post2.html
If that doesn't help give a shout.
Regards,
Greg

Thanks for the great report and fix.

Kahr didn't send me a new spring. I suggested sending me one with the mag catch. The Tech said "the spring doesn't cause the problem".

I can see a difference between the two mag catches. The new one has more area in the center of the catch on top of the flat side and angled underneath the other side.

I didn't do anything to the follower, I hope this solves the problem.

It took me about 10 mins. to remove the old one. You should sell a tool like that coat hanger. I can see how that flat end, with the notch would make it easier to pull the spring away from the catch. I just used a few different screwdrivers until I found one that worked. Installing the new one was easier.

Thanks for the help.

I think your report should be a sticky.

more than likely they are right but damn wny not send the entire assembly new, that spring as u well know is just a metal rod and unless it is bent before being put in, it willnot bend or loose its strength either. I bet that spring cost kahr maybe a nickel or less.

IMO they should have sent the spring to, just for peace of mind..

I agree. I even asked to buy a couple of recoil springs, since they were shipping me the mag catch, so they could ship together. They said I would have to order them seperate.

What can be done to get gb6491's report listed as a sticky? What makes things "sticky worthy"?

I shall make a request to JohnH to make it happen.
